10 Things We All Hate About Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess Game Review

The most sombre and dark of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphical presentation to its maximum limits on the Wii's hardware. It's darker and more unsettling than The Wind Waker. There aren't any bug-eyed pigs, nor effeminate Pirates.

Link is drawn to a different dimension referred to as Twilight Realm where he takes the form of a Hylian Wolf and a Hylian while being guided by Midna.

Gameplay

Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii systems in 2006. The game was praised by critics, receiving perfect scores from various publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM, and GamesRadar. It is regarded by many as one of the best in the entire series, and was the most-seller Zelda game on the PAL market.

Twilight Princess features a stylized, naturalistic graphic style that is reminiscent of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. Twilight princess is the first game in the series with an entirely directional control system instead of a fixed viewpoint like the previous games. This modification was made in order to work with the Wii console's touchscreen that is based on pointing. The GameCube version of the game features a section at the back that has mirror-image maps for those who prefer the fixed view.

After entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf and meets Midna, an unidentified creature. She informs Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts led the evil sorcerer Zant. She further explains that she is the real ruler of Twili however, she was supplanted and cursed into her present form by Zant.

When Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle, a short cut scene shows the soldiers being killed by the shadow creatures. Link and Midna then escape from the castle by a tunnel to enter the Twilight Realm.

In the Twilight Realm, Link can use his wolf form to move more freely in the world. He can also use his senses to navigate the world. He can sense the ghosts of soldiers and animals in the distance. He can also whistle and pick grass from certain patches to summon an animal, such as a Hawk, Epona or other. Link can also howl near the patches to summon a similar animal.

Twilight Princess is no different from earlier Zelda titles in that music plays an important role. Link can use instruments like the flute or harp, to attract and summon various animals. Link can also use his voice to command the wolf's form. He can also use his compass as a guide to help him navigate through the world.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda series is full of colorful characters that leave a lasting impression on players. These unique and imaginative characters that emerge from the toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans, are the core of this game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a variety of memorable characters.

Through the course of the story, Link meets new NPCs that are not only intriguing, but also plausible. It's a major step in the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a role in the story instead of simply being there as victims. NPCs like Rusl who explains how the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or Ordon villager who snoop around as wolves while the children are being taken from them They all have distinct personalities that seem genuine.

Other notable characters include Iza who runs the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who helps Wolf Link find a secret access point to the castle through her bar and sewer system, and Faron who's spirit guides Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and receives the first Tear of Light.

Midna, the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most fascinating characters in the game. She can change between wolf and human forms and is a part of the Triforce of Wisdom. She talks to Link about her experience at the twilight, and about how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.

Zant is the evil sorcerer who controls the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second half of the Triforce of Wisdom. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for encroaching on their land and enslaving the people. Midna can dispel Zant's power allowing him to change into his human form when needed.

demo slot princes 1000 is a more powerful horse that can be riding in both Wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle at specific patches of grass in order to call the animal. (similar to Majora’s Mask). The player can name the horse, making Twilight Princess the first time in the series where the player can personalize their own horse.

Theme

Music is an integral part of any Zelda game. It can make a game feel massive, expansive, and engrossing. Twilight Princess' soundtrack is often criticized for being sporadic and inconsistent and doesn't convey certain emotions. Contrarily, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have enthralling compositions that blossom at exactly the right moment to create a feeling of majestic and eerie.

Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series for the first time since Wind Waker, was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a radical departure from the usual approach to the series, and features a the minimalist approach to music and arrangements. Most field and dungeon themes begin with a single instrument, creating a hypnotic and mysterious ambiance for the player. Midna's Lament, for instance, uses a simple keyboard to create a sense of sadness in the player.

Dungeon themes are among the most well-known examples of this trend towards minimalism, with a number of dungeons featuring a dreary and ominous atmosphere. This is particularly evident in Twilight Realm, which has an dark soundscape that could be heard in the soundtrack of a David Lynch movie. The unsettling and ominous nature of the track is enhanced by the lack of recognisable melodies and the traditional arrangement with dreary drones and peculiar patterns intertwining to create a dark and bleak sound.

A more uplifting and joyous song is Link's hometown, "Faron Woods." This song uses a variety gentle sounds and strings to create a tranquil and secure feeling for the player. The song also has subtle references to the franchise's most infamous scene, since it has the riff which is like the iconic tune that is played at the beginning of Ocarina of Time.

There are also a few dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on where the player is and what they're doing, and what's happening. For example the Hyrule Castle Town theme has distinct versions for each area of the town with Central Square having a more lively and full version of the song. These variations add a nice flavor to the world of Hyrule and add a sense of deepness and immersion.

Story

Link's goal in Twilight Princess is to save Hyrule from the corrupted world known as the Twilight Realm. To achieve this, Link takes on the appearance of the Hylian or as well as a Wolf and is assisted by a woman named Midna.

Midna is the original ruler of the Twili, but she was usurped by Zant and cursed to her imp form. The Sages of the Old Testament explain to Link and Midna that only the defeat of Ganondorf will remove them from their curse. The Sages then reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter dangerous monsters who kidnap children. Wolf Link's keen ear assists them in tracking the children's scent to a nearby bridge that they cross over into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and get the first Fused Shadow. After that, Faron informs them that the next stop is the Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna is able to teleport Link to the fiery rock and uses her power to melt the ice at the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, who was the recently gone Zora queen appears to Link and tells Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to unlock the treasure of the Zora.

Twilight Princess allows you to ride Epona the horse from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. Unlike the set name used in the two previously mentioned games, Link can now decide the horse's name himself.

Upon arriving in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link recover the remaining Mirror Shards. The Sages inform Midna that she is the true ruler of the Twili. She was a pawn by the monarchy and was turned into a power-hungry god. The Sages tell them that they will be defeated by Ganondorf when they bring Ganondorf to the light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and the Hyrule kingdom.
