Twilight Princess Game Review
The most dark and serious of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphic presentation to its limit on the Wii's hardware. It's more unnerving and murky than The Wind Waker, with the absence of bugs-eyed pig guards or edgy pirates.
Link is dragged into a parallel dimension known as Twilight Realm, where he transforms into an Hylian and a wolf, while being guided by Midna.
Gameplay
The thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. The game was praised by critics, and received perfect scores from a variety of publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the most enjoyable game in the series and the most popular Zelda title on the PAL market.
Twilight Princess features naturalistic, stylized graphic style that is reminiscent of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. It's the first game in the series with the full directional control scheme, rather than a fixed view like the previous games. This change was made in order to make room for the Wii console, which features an interface based on pointing. The GameCube version comes with an area in the back of the game, with mirror-image maps, which are for those who prefer an image that is fixed.
Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the Twilight Realm. He also encounters Midna, a mysterious creature. She is able to reveal that the kingdom of Hyrule is being taken by a group of shadow beasts led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains she is the real ruler of Twili but was taken over by Zant and cursed to her current form.
A short cutscene shows the soldiers being slain by shadow beasts when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle by a tunnel, and enter the Twilight Realm.
Link can move more freely around the world in the Twilight Realm by using his Wolf form. Link can also use his senses to navigate through the world. For instance, he can hear the spirits of dead soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. He can also whistle and pull grass from certain patches to summon an animal like the Hawk, Epona or other. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.
Like previous Zelda games, music plays a large part in Twilight Princess. Link can use instruments like the flute or harp to draw attention to and summon animals. Link can also command the form of a wolf using his voice. Additionally, he can use his compass to guide him around the world and avoid getting lost.
Characters
The Legend of Zelda is full of vibrant and unique characters that leave an unforgettable impression. These quirky and creative personalities such as hands emerging from toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans, are the essence of this game. Twilight Princess continues in the tradition of previous games, and introduces an array of memorable characters.
Through the course of the story, Link meets new NPCs that are not only fascinating, but also credible. It's a huge improvement that so many of these NPCs don't exist solely as victims and are a part of the story. NPCs such as Rusl who states that the forest is risky now and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf when the kids are kidnapped each has their own unique personality.
slot demo princess 1000 are Iza who manages the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who aids Wolf Link find a secret way into the castle via her bar, sewer system, and Faron who's spirit is the one who guides Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The duo defeats Diababa's Fused Shadow and obtains the first Tear Of Light.
Midna the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most fascinating characters in the game. She is able to switch between her wolf and human forms and is a part of the Triforce of Wisdom. She talks to Link about her experience in the twilight and how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.
Zant is the evil sorcerer that rules the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second half of the Triforce of Wisdom. The goddesses banished him to Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and enslaving their territory. Midna removes Zant's power, permitting him to transform into his human form whenever required.
The game also includes an upgraded horse, called Epona, which is ridden in Hylian and wolf forms. Link can whistle around grass patches to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player is able to identify the horse and customize the horse, making Twilight Princess the first time in the series that a player can customize their own horse.
Theme
Music is an integral part of any Zelda game. It can make a game appear vast exciting, expansive, and captivating. Twilight Princess' soundtrack is criticized as being inconsistent and sporadic and doesn't convey certain moments of emotion. Contrarily, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are enthralling soundtracks that blossom at exactly the right moment to create a feeling of grandeur and eeriness.
Toru Minegishi and Asuka Ohta were the composers for the sound design and music in Twilight Princess, with Koji Kondo as the composer in charge for the first time since Wind Waker. The soundtrack to Twilight Princess is a radical deviation from the standard approach to the show, with a a minimalistic approach to melody and arrangement. The majority of themes for dungeons and fields begin with a single instrument, creating a hypnotic and mysterious ambiance for the player. For instance, the eerie music of Midna's lament makes use of an ordinary piano to create an overflowing sense of sorrow for the player.
The most prominent examples are dungeon themes, which have a dreary atmosphere. This is most evident in Twilight Realm, which has an unsettling soundscape that could be found on an original David Lynch movie. The ominous and unsettling nature of the track is enhanced by the lack of recognisable melodies and traditional arrangement, with dreary drones and peculiar patterns intertwining to create a dark and bleak sound.
Link's home-town song, "Faron Woods," is a more energetic and joyful track. This song employs a variety of soft sounds and strings to create a tranquil and secure feeling for the player. The song is a subtle nod to the most famous scene from the franchise, as it features an melody that is reminiscent of the famous melody that plays at Ocarina of Time's start.
There are also a few dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on where the player is, what they are doing, and what's going on. Hyrule Castle Town has different versions of its theme for each area of the town. Central Square, for example, has an edgier version. These variations add a wonderful addition to the world of Hyrule, adding a sense depth and immersion.
Story
Link's goal in Twilight Princess is to save Hyrule from the corrupted parallel world known as the Twilight Realm. To accomplish this, he assumes the form of a Hylian and a Wolf, as well as being assisted by a woman whose name is Midna.
Midna is the first ruler of the Twili, but she was overthrown by Zant and cursed to her imp form. The Sages of the past explain to Link and Midna that only defeating Ganondorf will remove them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter hostile monsters that kidnap children. Using Wolf Link's sharp sense of smell, they trace the scent of children to a bridge, and then cross into the Twilight Realm.
They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa, obtaining the first Fused Shadow. Faron then informs them of their next destination, the Eldin Province in the west (Wii) or the east (GCN).
At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna teleports Link to the fiery rock and uses her power to melt the ice in the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit who is the recently dead Zora queen appears to Link and tells Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to unlock the treasure of the Zora.
Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona can again be ridden in Twilight Princess. Link can choose the name of the horse, a change from the predetermined names in the previous games.
Upon arriving in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link recover the remaining Mirror Shards. The Sages inform Midna that she is the real ruler of the Twili. She was passed by the monarchy and was relegated to an ego-driven god. The Sages advise them that they will defeat Ganondorf when they bring him to light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and the Hyrule kingdom.
