Duel dalam HP series adalah pertarungan sihir yg melibatkan minimal 2 penyihir, dimana kedua duelist saling beradu mantra sampai salah satu pihak kalah (K.O). Duelist akan saling berhadapan, membungkuk dan berusaha untuk melucuti, melukai, mengalahkan atau bahkan membunuh satu sama lain. Peraturan duel asli adalah tidak boleh ada kontak fisik diantara duelist. Namun ada seorang siswa yang pernah melanggar peraturan ini, yaitu Millicent Bulstrode (ketika melawan Hermione Granger)
Duel di DSP menggunakan Turn-Based System. Artinya, tiap peserta akan memperoleh giliran (turn) untuk menyerang/bertahan/menggunakan item secara bergantian. Duel hanya dapat dilakukan oleh kalian yg mengambil jurusan Wizard (di jurusan P-user, ini dinamakan 'battle)
Ada bbrp istilah umum disini :
- HP
Health Point (HP) adalah angka yang menunjukkan status 'kesehatan' dari duelist. Duelist yang HPnya mencapai 0, dialah yg kalah. HP ini ibaratnya nyawa kalian.
-MP
Magic Point (MP) adl angka yg mnunjukkan status 'energi' dr duelist. Duelist yg MPnya mencapai 0 tidak akan bisa menyerang lawan dg mantra krn kehabisan energi. Dlm duel DSP, MP akan bertambah +2 setiap turn dg kelipatan 3 (turn ke-3, ke-6, ke-9, dst.)
- EXP
Experience Point (EXP) adl poin yg kmu dapatkan sbg hasil dari duelmu. EXP dikumpulkan hingga jml tertentu utk meningkatkan Plv.
- PLv
Player Level (PLv) adalah tingkatan duelist yg bisa naik seiring bertambahnya EXP kmu. Plv mempengaruhi jumlah HP/MP dan kekuatan serangan.
