5 Fridge Freezer Samsung Lessons From The Pros
Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge combines the capacity of a 389-litre refrigerator and 225-litre freezer. It's a big American-style model that has high-quality temperature control and an impressive slate of features that are smart.

It's customizable using removable panels and you can create one that perfectly matches your collection of tie dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.

All Round Cooling

In refrigerators that have All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits help to keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, one Evaporator cools the freezer as well as refrigerator compartments. This often means that the low-humidity air from your freezer is pumped into your fridge, and it could cause your foods to dry out. This can cause food to taste bland and unpleasant.

With All-Round Cooling, each shelf level has multiple vents which circulate cool air. This allows for a more consistent temperature, even when you close and open the refrigerator door.

Optimal Fresh zone helps keep seafood and meats fresher for up to two times longer than in conventional refrigerators, and does not freeze. This feature is a game-changer for those who love cooking, but hates the fuss of thawing frozen meats or fish.

All Round Cooling uses an All Round Cooling metal cooling plate at the back of the refrigerator to retain cold air and prevent its loss when you open the door. It also reduces the need for power defrosting which saves time and money.

The ice dispenser on Samsung refrigerators is among the finest we've tested. The patented Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes is operated with a simple twist and can be stored below the fridge when not in use. This allows for more shelf space and makes it easy to locate your favourite snacks and drinks.

With Reversible Doors You can choose the direction in which your fridge or freezer opens. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the kitchen layout, while also keeping your fridge neat and tidy.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control of your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen that is mounted on your refrigerator. It can show you a live feed of your smart doorbell. It also allows you to order groceries using an automated inventory, or suggest recipes based on what's available in stock.

The flex drawers that are located on the bottom of Samsung fridges are an excellent storage solution that make it easier to store taller items such as canned drinks or pizza trays. They can be turned back when not in use and folded flat to save space. This is an excellent option for those who like to cook and bake and have a limited fridge space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer comes with a unique three-zone design that allows you to add an additional refrigerator compartment or a freezer drawer to your set up. This allows you to customize your fridge freezer to meet your storage and needs requirements. The FlexZone module lets you upgrade your fridge to a bigger or smaller size by adding an extra FlexZone.

The elegant design of the refrigerator will complement any kitchen decor. Its stainless steel finish is elegant and robust. It also has an anti-fingerprint coating to keep the surface looking brand new. The refrigerator also comes with an external water and ice dispensers to make life easier.

This fridge has the FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted into a freezer or refrigerator. This allows you to keep things like ice cream, bags frozen meat, frozen vegetables or fish in the freezer. It also did well in our tests, though the 21.5-inch touchscreen's excessive apps and the absence of SmartThings and voice control integration are a missed opportunity.

There's plenty of room to store food in the rest of the fridge with two drawers for crisps and a customizable middle FlexZone drawer. This drawer lets you choose among five different settings, based on the needs of your fridge freezer compartment. There is the freeze setting that is compatible with the freezer settings as well as an option for a soft freeze setting on wine or deli trays, a meat and fish setting as well as the beverage setting for drinks, snacks and frequently accessed items.

This Samsung FlexZone side-by-side refrigerator is a good option for families who are looking for the convenience of having a fridge and freezer in one. It's not as big as high-end French-door models, but it does come with a number of useful features. This is a great choice for those with little space in their homes.

The Samsung Fridge Freezer is also a very energy-efficient refrigerator, thanks to its digital inverter technology. This technology regulates temperature in the fridge so that it doesn't change too frequently and also keeps food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it an ENERGY STAR certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings may not be as powerful as Alexa or Google Assistant but you can still add more smart devices to it. Samsung's TVs, phones, tablets and fridges all come with SmartThings. That may be enough to make it worthwhile for some, especially if you have multiple Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is pretty elegant and well-rounded, with a 'if x then y' automation feature that works surprisingly well. You can set things up like alarms that go off when water leak sensors detect flooding, or turning on the lights when your phone detects you're at home. It can also control your fridge when connected to a smart socket, however, we've had mixed results with that.

samsung refrigerator 'll need a hub in order to use SmartThings, and it's not expensive. Samsung has a range of models, including the SmartThings Station, which you can attach to your router and is used as a nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings hub dongle that supports Z-Wave, Zigbee and Thread.

Once you have your smart fridge with a hub, smartphone and smart fridge it's a breeze to use. SmartThings lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your phone when the fridge is closed or opened. You can create schedules, adjust the temperature and even set reminders.

SmartThings was a founding member in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working on making major home appliances made by different manufacturers interoperable. This could mean that you can control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television from the same app in the near future.

Although it's not as widely used as Alexa or Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some major players on its list which include Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, a protocol that allows accessories to connect regardless of brand. For the majority of people however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best option.

Family Hub

This fridge freezer is among the most modern one you can find. It comes with a 21-inch touchscreen integrated into the door, as well as a host of clever features. Bixby, Samsung's voice-activated assistant, allows users to access entertainment apps, take notes for family (think of it as a large digital version of the notepad that is stuck to the refrigerator), check weather reports and much more.

The touchscreen also lets you to organize your food and recipes, with the option to add ingredients straight from the recipe app and also see what's in your fridge using internal cameras. You can create grocery lists on the go and track food items to check their expiration dates. You can also use a specific recipe app that will provide instructions while you cook.

Samsung has spent an entire year working on the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. You can now create separate profiles for every family member to allow them to customize the information and apps that they can access. It's not as great as the Alexa integration into your fridge but it is an improvement over last year's model.

Family Hub is not only an app for managing your entertainment and groceries, but it also controls Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can onboard Matter-compatible devices like lights, plugs and locks and can be used with the touchscreen to control them as well.

Samsung's refrigerator is a few years old and even though it offers a wide range of functions but its touchscreen features aren't a feature majority of people would consider an essential feature. They're more fun and semi-frivolous extras than any other feature.

It could change when more software updates are released, but for the moment these models are best for those who need the most complete connected fridge they can get. You can save money by buying a model that does not include the Family Hub if you're not one of those people. It could be worth it when you have a number of smart home appliances that must be controlled from the same screen, or if you just love the idea of a fridge with a giant touchscreen.
