Slot for Smuggled Items

The smuggled item slot is an excellent option for allowing players to bring tools and weapons, but it could use a better opportunity. It's currently shaped like a pistol which makes it difficult to differentiate the smuggled item slot from other slots for gear.

The smuggle slot can hold many different objects, ranging from simple concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items are covertly stashed in inconspicuous places around the map and can be retrieved at any time. Smuggled items differ from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes which hide only small objects in scenery and objects.


Mission planning is a feature that is available in episodic missions that allows players to gain access to different starting points, smuggled items and gear slots prior to their entry into the map. As players progress through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning increase. This gives players the ability to create the perfect mission for each challenge.

Gear Slot

In the beginning of the game, players will find their gear slots quickly become full, resulting in the frequently-repeated "Your Gear Slots are full" message which prevents Max from picking new equipment until the old ones are cleared or more space is obtained. The solution is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which provide more inventory space in exchange for the completion of challenging missions. Because slot providers of these challenges are overlooked and are scattered around the world, it may take a while to get the most inventory slots available in the game.

Each player can have up to five different types of gear in their five Gear Slots. They must be selected from the Gear Selection menu prior to breaking in. Each individual gear item (except the Pistol) occupies one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like Grenades that are of the same type) only takes up one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you advance through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock various agency pickups that are on the map. These locations let you store items that don't fit in your concealed weapon or gear slot, and retrieve them later.

These pickups are particularly useful if you have to go through a frisk in the course of the game or if you're carrying a weapon that would otherwise trigger suspicion. You can only hide only one item at a pick-up location.

This DLC also adds new security and asset protection contracts to the agency. To start these missions, simply contact the receptionist of the agency and stock up on armor and snacks. Then, head to the stated mission marker and spot a group upon arrival.
