OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
the main objectives of this study is to evaluate the reading comprehension levels of grade 5 pupils at La Victoria Elementary by assessing their ability to understand and retain information from various texts across different genres and subjects. the research aims to identify the reading challenges and the reading strategies to implement of Grade v pupils in La Victoria Elementary School;

1. To identify any phonemic awareness challenges among grade 5 pupils by examining their ability to recognize and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words, which is essential for decoding unfamiliar words and improving reading fluency.
2. To measure and examine the English fluency, including the vocabulary, of grade 5 pupils. by determining the breadth and depth of their vocabulary knowledge to identify any deficiencies that may hinder comprehension of grade-level texts.
3. To explore the reading strategies and metacognitive skills of grade 5 pupils, including their ability to monitor comprehension, make inferences, and use context clues effectively when encountering unfamiliar words or concepts.
