Look What We Found: Leslie Hill’s prized document of protest by African American women

In 1991, during the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, Associate Professor of Politics at Bates College, Leslie Hill, along with 1,600 other black women, including Sue Houchins (now associate professor of African American studies), signed a full-page ad in The Sunday New York Times.
