Chefkoch Donald J. Smith ist in New Orleans geboren und aufgewachsen, dem Herz und der Seele der kreolischen und Cajun-Kultur. Bei seiner Mutter und seinem Onkel lernte er die authentische kreolische Küche kennen. Chefkoch Donald, der in kulinarischen Kreisen als Chefkoch D bekannt ist, ist auf kreolisches, Cajun- und Soul-Food spezialisiert. Ist der frühere Besitzer mehrerer Restaurants und bereitet Mahlzeiten für verschiedene Einrichtungen vor, darunter Kongresse, Unternehmen und die Versorgung von Obdachlosen und weniger Glücklichen. Er ist ein geborener und innovativer Koch, er mischt seine eigenen Gewürze und hat ein Kochbuch geschrieben, das im März 2020 erschien. Chefkoch D hat viele Auszeichnungen und Auszeichnungen erhalten. Im Jahr 2018 wurde er zu einem der besten Köche von Louisiana gewählt und erhielt im Jahr 2020 den Culinary Excellence Award der National Black Chef Association und gewann alle möglichen Auszeichnungen, darunter auch „Gumbo“-Wettbewerbe.
