i miss the companionship
thats the one thing you wanted
at least thats what you told me at one point
but in the end you wanted more
you wanted an adult a woman a wife a lifelong partner
not that i couldn't ever see myself become that, but i wasn't already that
it stressed you out that i wasnt at your level or further
i guess i did drop the ball a bit on my career
but i still have now till the end of my life to figure things out
i dont want to rush
i dont want to be all that for you
in the end it didn't work
maybe the three year difference was too much for you
i liked the older more put togetherness
it was a comfort an inspiration
but my naivety and lack of security was too stressful for you
i can't hate you for that, you did warn me you'd leave me if i didnt get that figued out
but you honestly didn't give me much time
i cant suddenly be in a career with a car and house with thousands saved up
we were just starting and just barely getting into the flow of things
actually we never got a good flow as a couple
you were gone
and i waited
i texted i called and stayed here waiting for you to come home
and you returned and realized a week in that i wasn't for you
you could've realized that before
before we became serious
before i deluded myself with a future, with love
for that a part of me hates you a bit
you always went on about trust and taking things slow
you constantly questioned my loyalty and i tried over and over to gain some of your trust
i even let my walls down as well to help you
but in the end it felt like you never tried
you never actually tried
and that makes me mad
why couldn't you try
you asked me for a mile i gave you a marathon
you asked for a kiss, i gave you everything
you asked me not to fret and i let you walk all over me
why couldn't you try to love me?
