Dear Councillor,
Firstly, I'd like to introduce our organization, Hyolmo society of Canada, a not for profit organization with a mission to preserve and foster Hyolmo identity and culture (one of the indigenous communities of Nepal).
On the auspicious occasion of 2568th Buddha Jayanti, which marks the birth and enlightenment of Lord Buddha, we will be organizing an event to spread his message of world peace and compassion through our cultural dance and prayers.
The event is scheduled to take place on May 25th, 2024 at Yonge and Dundas Square from 11 am to 3 pm.
This event is expected to bring not only Nepali community, but also Buddhist community at large to the venue for the celebration. We also have quite a large group of people coming in from Untied States in show of solidarity. We hope this event will bring some business to the local Yonge Dundas business community as well.
We would like you to join us in this event, and hope you've already received our official invitation.
Also, in preparation for this event, we incurred a permit fee(attached)to book the Square. We then were made aware the fee would be waived upon a local councillor's approval. Therefore, we humbly request you to help us waive this fee by providing a support or approval letter from your side.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this regard.
