These parameters could include altering the torque produced by the motor, altering the speed that the chair moves and setting the dead zone, which is the distance within which the EPW cannot produce an output. Some controllers allow the clinician to store backup programs. This is beneficial in an emergency or when a patient's symptoms alter.
