Counter Strike New Revealed
Valve finally revealed Counter Strike New after weeks of speculation. It's an update to CS:GO that will put the game on the Source 2 engine and make some major visual changes.
It also introduces responsive smoke grenades as well as sub-tick updates for servers. It has got a lot of casual gamers going wild but it looks like an incredible improvement for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an update that will completely alter the smoking system used in the game. The changes are being described as responsive smokes and will be a major game changer. Smokes will expand to fill up spaces naturally and then move around objects on the map. They will also react to the lighting in the game, which makes their appearance more appealing and realistic. In addition to these new features, smokes are now be able to interact with gameplay events, which will open up new tactical possibilities. Bullets, for example, will push smoke in order to temporarily clear sightlines. Hex grenade blasts will also disperse smoke obstruction.
The biggest change to smokes is that they will now be a more dynamic element of the game. Smokes from previous versions were a fixed-shaped object with a limited ability to move and blocking. However, the new smokes will expand to take up the space they're in and will block more of the player's view when they are within the area. This is a major improvement that will make the game more dynamic and will give both sides the same view.
In addition smokes are now able to react to the surroundings weapons, lighting, and environment in the world space. This makes smoke more realistic and offer players different ways to use it to gain an edge over their opponents. This is particularly useful in the chaotic 5v5 games which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes are no longer a one-way. This was a major problem in CSGO, as it allowed players to see the location of their opponents from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a renowned CS:GO professional who believes the new system will make CS2 more fair for both teams.
Other minor changes include adjusting the position of smoke particles in order to minimize the visibility of edges and updating spectators' smoke overlay visuals to reflect their camera's position. Also, the expiration of smokes has been updated to be more in line with the visuals of how they fade onto the screen.
Loadouts
Players of CS:GO can now customize their weapon choice before the start of every match. The new loadout system allows players to choose the weapon that best suit their playstyle and team strategy. The new system also adds new tactical depth to the game since players must be able to balance firepower and utility.
In addition to the new loadouts In addition to the new loadouts CS: GO update includes a number of other improvements and modifications. Most importantly, the buy menu has been completely revamped. The old buy wheel was replaced with a grid that can be customized to show all purchase options simultaneously. The grid is populated with five pistols, as well as five "mid-tier weapons" like submachine gun, shotguns and rifles.
The new system is easy to use, and will give players greater control over their weapon selection. cs2 case opening will let them choose the weapons which best suit their style of play, team tactics and experiment with various combinations. They can also compare their loadouts to other players and see how they compare.
Many players have praised the increased flexibility, while some have criticized the change for departing from the fundamental premise of Counter-Strike. They have also raised concerns over how it will impact map-specific loadouts and agent skins that are based on visibility.
Despite these criticisms, the new loadout system will be tested in greater detail in the coming months. Some of these issues could be addressed in future updates. It is essential to keep up-to-date for more details.
In addition to the brand new CS: GO features, the new update also includes Workshop Tools which can be enabled through the game's settings menu and allow community contributors to design weapons' finishes, stickers and maps. The update will also ban players who break VAC rules during matches.
The new CS: GO update is scheduled to launch later in the summer. Players can browse the complete list of updates and features by visiting the official CS: GO website.
Sub-Tick Updates
The world of Counter-Strike is constantly updated by the server in discrete intervals of time called ticks. Valve hopes to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. The smallest delay could alter the accuracy of a shot. A new video shows one of the game's most significant improvements under the hood, referred to as sub-tick updates.
Instead of a 64-tick update every millisecond, CS GO will now be able make use of sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. Each of these tiny intervals of time will be recorded by the client and transmitted to the server, which will then send back the latest game state to players. The servers will know when you fired a shot, jumped, or peeked.
The video does not cover everything. However, it does explain that each piece sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp and that the server collects all the data in chronological order from all players before sending it back. According to the video the CS: GO server will now be able to send more than twice the data as a 64-tick servers.
This means that even if the game's tick speed increases to 128 Hz, it will still be able to respond to your commands immediately and consistently. And it's not solely about increasing the tick rate, as micro-tick updates also reduce input lag and latency by ensuring that the server will respond to your actions without delays or glitches.
Obviously, this is only the beginning of the technological improvements Valve is making to the game. The company is using particles and smoke that are dynamic to enhance the way smoke interacts with its surroundings. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. All CS weapons and cosmetics will also get a facelift with Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
The coming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, alongside some old favorites which are getting facelifts. These updates are currently being tested as part of a limited-test beta. The first set of updates includes an upgrade and touchstone maps that won't see any major changes in gameplay, whereas other maps have been completely rebuilt or overhauled using the new Source 2 Tools.
Among these, Overpass was redesigned to make use of the engine's new unified lighting system. The map's dark underground has been flooded with light to make it more spacious and less congested. In addition, smoke grenades will now expand dynamically to fill in spaces and interact with the new light.
Another map that's been overhauled is Italy and has undergone a significant overhaul in texture lighting, structure and texture. The new version is more balanced than the previous version, which was heavily CT oriented. Fans can expect a few more classics, including Aztec and Militia, to be revamped in the future.
These maps won't be added to the competitive map pool despite the fact that they are still playable. The only exception is Train, which has been pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't confirmed yet if the other maps that were taken will be reintroduced to the pool.
One of the most controversial updates is one that was created by Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's national newspaper. The news organization has been a vocal critic of Russia's actions in Ukraine and the map draws inspiration from the city that was devastated by war in Donetsk. The map is titled de_voyna and contains a range of references to the war.
In the future the developer will be releasing a collection of Source 2 tools for community map makers to use in their own creations. This will include features like improved lighting and character read, as well as a physically based rendering system that produces realistic materials, textures and reflections. It will also make real-world objects like doors and windows, more simple to use. The update is expected to be released in the summer of this year.
