11 "Faux Pas" You're Actually Able To Use With Your Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There's a robot that can be found for every carpet type, whether it's low-pile or high-pile. These smart appliances automatically navigate your home, suck up debris and even clean under furniture.

Many of them have advanced features, such as mapping, which can help you navigate your home and recall furniture place. They can also boost the suction power in order to clean up surfaces that are dirtier.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba from iRobot is an entry level robot vacuum that performs well on both plain flooring and carpets with low pile. It is able to suction well, but struggles with larger debris such as grains of rice or sand. It also does a good job of removing pet hair but it's not immune to tangling like high-end Roomba models, such as the j7 or I6.

The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has three buttons on its top cover. Clean, which triggers a cleaning process and 'Dock' that places it in its charging station and the 'Spot' button, which triggers a targeted cleaning. It is controlled by a smartphone app that lets you schedule or stop/start cycles, as well as adjust settings. You can also pair the device to smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant to control it through voice.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than other models, but it can get into the most crevices and corners. It has a big bin, which makes it easier to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allows you to set the robot to avoid certain areas or to stop cleaning completely to stop it from getting stuck.

While it's not the best model for its price however, it's superior to many other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with superior cleaning efficiency on carpets that are low and bare. It also has the most efficient cleaning method and has a longer battery life. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

It's also worth taking a look at other models that are more expensive in the iRobot range, such as the 981 or the v7. sweep and mop robot and v7 are more expensive but have significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily and are easier to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot that is budget-friendly does a good job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. Its combination brush gets into edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt off mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a tiny footprint and has a self-emptying feature. If you'd like to change the floor's levels or define no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities but it's missing no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigational system gives you greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, but it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker lets you operate the robot by voice commands.

In our tests in our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from floors with no flooring and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpets. It struggled to get at dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It did a good job of maneuvering around the legs of chairs and tight spaces, as well as the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on bare flooring however, it was able to recover speed and was more efficient than the other robots we test.

sweep and mop robot is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of maneuvering itself over obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can handle sticky debris. The iRobot is, on the other hand feels better built and has less components that need maintenance or replacement, incurs less cost per year, and can create virtual no go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice commands, which is an advantage for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it provides excellent cleaning power for affordable prices. This robot vacuum is made for those who are budget conscious and do not require a complicated mapping system, or even an app, to control it. The robot is capable of running for more than an hour and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim, sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice stylistic departure from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was extremely effective at removing larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpeting an effective deep clean. It also has a tendency to hit furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect those obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud noise when it comes across an obstruction. It is then possible to manually steer the device around it to return it to working.

Another fantastic aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match the floor type and the amount of dirt. The remote control makes it simple to guide the 11S to the desired area.

If you don't have many furniture in the area you'd like to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

You can also choose Edge Cleaning, which restricts the amount of time in each location to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. If you select this option the eufy moves in a spiral, tackling corners and edges for a thorough clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a top mid-priced vacuum cleaner that excels on carpet. Its performance is also excellent on bare floors. It is able to remove fine debris like rice effortlessly and doesn't lose suction efficiency even as its dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design traps allergens and keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need any additional filters or a vacuum bag.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's great for tackling staining and deep cleaning. Two front cameras provide live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it features one of the top obstacles-avoiding systems we've seen. It has a large bin, a long runtime and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

Unlike most other robots, unlike other robots, the Complete C1 can switch between the standard powerhead and the turbo head for different types of floors. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead can be used on unfinished floors and light rugs. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system, which allows it to easily adjust to different kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle hard floors as well as carpeting of medium-pile. The powerhead is also easy to maneuver and can get into difficult spots. It has five levels of surface adjustment as well as a brushroll off switch to help prevent tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll, an UtraClean mode that moves across the same area three times to ensure the best possible clean, and a self-emptying dustbin which can be filled with the push of one button. The sound level of this model is greater than other models. However, its powerful motor of 1,200 watts and durable construction justify the additional cost.

If you're willing to pay a little more it is the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is an excellent all-around robot vacuum. It is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It is more efficient on all floor types, feels more solidly built, and includes an HEPA filter.
