The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
Whether you've got carpet with a high or low pile There's a robot vacuum for you. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home, suck up dirt and clean under furniture.
A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, which helps them navigate your home and recall furniture placement. They can also boost suction power to clear dirtier areas.
iRobot Roomba 694
The iRobot Roomba 694 is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that is able to work on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has good suction however it has trouble with larger debris like grains of rice or sand. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as strong against tangling as premium Roomba models such as the j7 and I6.
The Roomba is simple to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. Clean, which initiates a cleaning session and 'Dock' that places it in its charging station, and the 'Spot' button, which triggers a targeted cleaning. It is controlled by a smartphone app which lets you program or stop/start cycles as well as adjust settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum cleaner is slower than some other models, but it can reach most corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin, which is great for reducing the frequency with which you need to empty it. It's compatible with digital barriers and virtual barriers that let you restrict it to certain areas or stop cleaning altogether when you want to stop it from getting stuck on something.
While it's not the best model for its price however, it's superior to many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning performance for carpets with low and no pile. It also follows the most efficient cleaning method and has a longer battery life. It is also more robust, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its lifetime and charges faster than 694.
You should also consider other models in the iRobot range, including the v7 and the 981. They're more expensive but they provide significant improvements over the 694 in terms of performance on both low and bare floors. They also follow a more efficient cleaning route and come with a larger dirt compartment, are quicker to charge, move more easily, and are more easy to connect to smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors. Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt from carpet in the middle. The IQ has a tiny footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you wish to alter the floor level on the map or set no-go zones you'll have manually reset it to do this, which can be somewhat of an inconvenience.
The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. Its intelligent-pathing navigational system gives you superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, but it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot using voice commands.
During our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to get rid of the majority of hair on bare floors and a good amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective with shag carpets, where it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able navigate chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge and is capable of moving itself around obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can remove sticky messes. On the other side, the iRobot is built better and has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance and has lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from the point it started, even if the battery is out before it has finished. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum on the market however it offers powerful cleaning capabilities at a low price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for budget-conscious consumers who don't require a complicated mapping system, or an app, to control it. The robot is able to last for more than an hour. It includes the remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that is covered with plastic, which is finished to appear like brushed aluminum. It's a nice departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
In robot mop and vacuum combo , the eufy11S was extremely effective at removing larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. It also has a tendency to bump into furniture and other objects in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud sound when it comes across an obstacle. You can then manually steer the device around it and restart it.
Another excellent feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and the level of the mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S where you want it to go.
If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the area that it's assigned.
You can also choose Edge Cleaning, which restricts the amount of time in each location to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling fashion, cleaning corners and edges.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on floors that are not bare is also exceptional. It is able to remove rice and other fine debris easily. The suction power doesn't drop as the dirt bin fills. Its design is a breathable one and its air-sealed body captures allergens to keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need additional filters or a vacuum bag.
It's not as powerful as other models, but it's great for deep cleaning and taking on the toughest stains. robo mops comes with two cameras in front that deliver live feeds to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It has a large bin, a long running time and a quick, bump-free cleanup.
The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it is able to switch between a standard head and a turbo for different kinds of flooring. The turbo head works best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead is suitable for bare floors and light carpets. It also has an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adapt to different types of flooring without manual adjustments.
This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The powerhead can also be easily maneuvered and can reach hard-to-reach areas. It has five levels of surface adjustment as well as a brushroll off switch to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.
The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll, the UtraClean Mode that cleans the same area up to three times, and a self emptying dustbin that can be emptied by pressing a button. cheap robot vacuum of this model is higher than other models. However its powerful motor with 1,200 watts of power and robust construction are worth the additional cost.
If you're willing to spend a bit more then the Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-round canister robot vacuum that is more effective on carpet than the Classic C1. It is more efficient on all floor types and is more solidly constructed, and includes a HEPA filter.
