13 Things You Should Know About Counter Strike New That You Might Never Have Known
Counter Strike New Revealed

Valve finally announced Counter Strike New after weeks of speculation. It's an update to CS:GO that will put the game on the Source 2 engine and make some significant visual changes.

It also introduces sub-tick server update and smoking grenades that are responsive. It has got a lot of armchair gamers going crazy but it looks like a huge improvement for the average player.

Smokes

Counter Strike New is getting an update that will completely alter the way smokes are used in the game. The changes, which are dubbed responsive smokes, are a game changer. Smokes will now expand to fill spaces naturally and move around objects on the map. They will also react to the lighting of the games, making them appear more realistic. In addition to these new features, smokes will be capable of interfacing with game events and will offer new tactical possibilities. For instance, bullets could push smoke to briefly clear sightlines and explosions from hex grenades will disperse smoke to block sightlines.

The most significant change in smokes is that they will become a more active part of the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed shape that was limited in how far they could travel and how much vision it blocked. The new smokes will fill the space in which they are located and block more of a player's vision when they are there. This is a significant improvement that will make the game more dynamic and will give both teams the same view.

Smokes also react to light as well as the weapons and the surroundings in the world space. This makes the smoke appear more realistic and allow players to use it in a variety of ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is particularly beneficial in the chaotic 5v5 matches which are bound to occur on every map.

Smokes are no longer a one-way. This was a major issue in CSGO, since it allowed players to see the position of their opponent behind the smoke. Twistzz is a well-known CS:GO professional who claims that the new system makes CS2 more fair for both teams.

Other minor changes include adjusting the vertical position of smoke particles to prevent seeing through edges and updating spectators' smoke overlay visuals to reflect their camera's position. The expiration time of smokes was adjusted to match the visuals on screen.

Loadouts

The CS:GO players can now modify their weapon selection prior to the start of each match. The updated loadout system lets players to select the weapons that best fit their style of play and team's strategy. The new system also brings new tactical depth to the game, since players must be able to balance firepower and utility.

In addition to the brand new loadouts, the CS: GO update includes many other improvements and changes. The buy menu was completely redesigned. The old buy wheel has been replaced by an adjustable grid that shows all available purchase options simultaneously. The grid is comprised of five pistols and five "mid-tier weapons" such as submachine gun, shotguns and rifles.

The new system is easy to use, and give players greater control over their weapon choice. It will let them select the weapon that best suits their style of play and team tactics the best, aswell to experiment with various combinations. It also allows players to test their skills against other players' loadouts and find out how they stack up.

While many players appreciate the flexibility it offers, some have criticized it for deviating from the core essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it will impact map-specific loadouts and skins of agents that are based on visibility.

Despite these criticisms, the new loadout system will be tested more thoroughly in the coming months. Some of these issues could be addressed in future updates. It is important to stay updated for more information.

Workshop Tools are included in the update and can be enabled from the settings menu. This lets community contributors design weapon finishes and stickers, as well as maps. Additionally, the update will now live ban players who violate the VAC rules during matches.

The new CS GO update is scheduled to be released in the middle of summer. For now, players can look over the complete list of updates and features by visiting the official CS: GO website.

Sub-Tick Updates

The world of Counter-Strike is constantly updated by the server in discrete increments of time called ticks. The smallest gap between a tick and a mouse click of a player can affect the accuracy of a shot, so Valve is working hard to ensure that CS: GO is responsive and smooth. A new video reveals one of the game's most significant under-the-hood improvements, known as sub-tick updates.

Instead of a 64-tick update every millisecond, CSGO is now able to use sub-ticks, or as Valve calls it, "micro ticks", to communicate with servers. The client will record each of these tiny increments and send them to the server. The server will then send the updated game state back to players. The servers will now know the exact moment when you shot and jumped, swung, and other inputs.

The video doesn't go over everything. However, it does explain that each piece of data sent by the client has a timestamp and that the server collects all data in chronological order from all players prior to sending it back. According to the video a CS: GO will be capable of sending twice the data than a 64-tick CS: GO.

This means that even if the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz it can still handle your commands immediately. Micro-tick updates also decrease input lag, making sure that the server reacts to your actions without any glitches or delays.

Valve's technological improvements to the game are just the beginning. Valve is currently implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve how smoke interacts with the surrounding and is also updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. All CS cosmetics and weapons will be updated with Source 2 tools and features.

Maps

The new update coming to Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, along with a few classics that are being given facelifts. These updates are currently being tested as part of a limited test beta. The first set of maps includes upgrade and touchstone maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, whereas others have been completely rebuilt or overhauled with the new Source 2 tools.

Overpass is one of these maps that was reworked in order to make use of the new engine's unified light system. The map's eerie underground has been filled with daylight to make it more spacious and less crowded. cs2 case opening are now expanding dynamically in order to fill in spaces, and interact with the light.

Another map that's been reworked is Italy, which has received a significant overhaul in texture lighting, structure, and lighting. The new version is more balanced than its predecessor which was heavily CT focused. Fans can expect a few more classics, like Aztec and Militia, to be revamped in the near future.

These maps will not be added to the map pool for competitive play, even though they are still playable. The only exception is Train, which has been pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't confirmed yet if the other maps that were removed will be returned to the pool.

Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. Its update has been criticized as controversial. The newspaper has been vocal in its criticism of Russia's actions in Ukraine, and the map draws inspiration from the city devastated by war, Donetsk. The map is called de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.

In the near future the developer will be releasing a set Source 2 tools for community map creators to make their own maps. This will include features such as improved lighting and character read and physically-based rendering that creates realistic materials, textures and reflections. It will also make it easier to implement real-world objects, like doors and windows. The update is expected to be released sometime in the summer.
