Counter Strike Global Offensive 2
Counter strike global offensive 2 is a significant upgrade to the current game. Valve brings the popular FPS game to their newer Source 2 Engine.
Touchstone maps have minor changes to the lighting and readability, while Upgraded maps get an overhaul complete using Source 2's physically-based rendering.
A number of gameplay improvements will also be coming with changes to the sub-tick which should reduce the reliance on tick rates for precise actions.
Gameplay
Counter-Strike Global Offensive, the latest installment of the wildly popular Counter-Strike franchise, features the same gameplay which has defined the genre. It was developed using Valve's Source 2 engine, and has high-resolution textures, real time lighting and the physics. It's been updated with a number of new weapons as well as other gameplay elements.
The game comes with 34 weapons of which 19 are exclusive to this latest version. A lot of them are replacements for weapons from earlier versions while others have been redesigned to have unique functions and characteristics.
Some of the most significant changes are centered on the weapons themselves. The SCAR-L was replaced by an entirely new weapon with a greater range and power, while the AK-128 was upgraded with a new barrel that improves accuracy. Other weapons have been modified as well, including the M4A1 and the sniper rifles.
Some of the maps have been revamped for CS:GO 2. Overpass was revamped to take advantage of the brand new Source 2 Engine, while other maps, like Dust II were carefully updated. In addition to the new maps The game will also include many additional new features. For instance the game's interface has been updated and a brand new Item Workshop will allow players to design their own items.
Another major change is the game's Faction system. Counter-Strike 2 offers a wide selection of T and CT models, whereas the previous version had two factions. In addition the game's server design has been modified to utilize sub-tick updates, which means that the servers are able to evaluate the world in very small intervals, for example, the moment a player moves or fires a shot or throws an explosive.
Since its release in 2012. CS:GO is one of the most played games on Steam. It has an estimated 11,000,000 players each month. It also has a thriving esports scene that includes teams participating in numerous leagues and tournaments. case opening -known of these is the Valve-sponsored Major Championships, where top teams compete for large prize pools.
Weapons
Counter-Strike Global Offensive is a game that focuses on armed combat. With over 35 weapons available players can pick their primary weapon from a broad variety of options. The equipment used by players like armor, CT defuse kit, as well as grenades play a significant part in the overall match strategy.
Each weapon has strengths and weaknesses of its own. For instance the AWP is a great sniper rifle that can kill enemies with armor above the legs with ease however, it has a slow rate of firing and is quite costly. The SCAR-20 is a great level of accuracy with its scope, however it is also slow to reload and reduce the player's speed.
New weapons in CS:GO also come with some changes to the way they appear. For example, the HE weapon is now exploding in a more realistic way and molotov cocktails' smoke or incendiary grenades appears more real. This helps in tracking down players.
The weapons in CS:GO can be bought at the buy zone located at each team's designated spawn point. Apart from knives and pistols, players can purchase any other weapon available in the game using the game's currency. Players can even spend money to upgrade their weapons. The game has players a new menu to shop more conveniently.
Valve released a few updates just a few months after the release of the game to improve gameplay. The most notable changes concern the chat system in the game, which has been updated to stop the use of offensive language and spam. The UI for buying items is also being revamped and now utilizes grid-based layout.
The game was also improved with the addition of a brand new anticheat system that includes spectating as well as an exclusion system. The team that loses a round will receive a penalty, but those who commit an offense will be suspended for an extended period of time. Valve has also added some gameplay adjustments to the game to make it more enjoyable.
Maps
The Counter-Strike series is famous for its maps, and the level of skill required to master them. Each map is the culmination of many years and even decades of hard work. The maps in the reserve and active pools are the most important part of the game to master because they will aid you in understanding the game's mechanics better and give you more tools to play it.
Mirage is a cult CSGO map from the Active pool that was introduced back in 2013 by Valve. Mirage is known for its high skill ceilings as well as balanced play between both sides in battle. The map is also a part of esports events as well as major championships in CSGO.
Nuke is an iconic CSGO defusal map that's well-liked by casual as well as professional players. The map has gone through a few modifications over the years, but it is still one of the most complex strategic maps in the game. The map's unique layout requires to be considered from every angle and offers more ways to outmaneuver the opponent than any other map.
Overpass is a more recent CSGO map that was released in the Winter Offensive Update in 2013. Since its introduction Overpass has been a popular map. It has been featured in a variety of major championships and Esports competitions. The map is compact but it is packed with options. From the long, sloping outside of the A site to the tight corners of B site.
Vertigo is now part of the CSGO Active pool for 2019 and has been awe-inspiring to all who have played it. It has replaced one of the most beloved maps in CSGO and has been well received by the community. The map is a bit CT sided but that doesn't prevent it from being one of the most requested maps in queues. Another interesting aspect of this map is the canals that flow through it. They are a nice touch to the map and make it stand out from many other CSGO maps that are heavy on long outsides.
Updates
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been around for ten years and was in desperate need of an update. Fans had been expecting a Source 2 beta for CS:GO for a while, and Valve confirmed that the beta test is starting today. The studio has promised that it would be the "largest technological leap forward for the game" and a revamp of every aspect of the game.
The most noticeable change to the game is the switch to Source 2, a graphics engine that gives a more life-like visual experience. This includes new lighting particles, particle systems, and an increased focus on making bullets more easily discernible from a distance. The switch to the new engine means a redesign of many maps, including reworked versions of Italy and Overpass.
Valve's upgrade is designed to improve the way servers are designed and tick rates deal with the game's actions. The switch to 128 tick servers is expected to make a significant difference in the responsiveness of the game and its visual quality. Valve promises that the change will be an "remarkable improvement" and will allow CS:GO to feel more responsive than ever before.
In addition to the visual changes, players can anticipate several other gameplay improvements. Smoke grenades, for instance will now be volumetric 3D items in the game world that can be pushed to temporarily alter lines of sight. Valve also claims that the update to the game's server architecture will allow sub-tick updates which will be capable of calculating precise actions between ticks, and provide a smoother experience.
The limited test will be only available to select players, based on a variety of factors such as play time and Steam account status. Valve states that any cosmetics you've accumulated during the current CS games will be transferred to the updated version of the game when it launches this summer. Esports Insider reached out to BLAST the largest CS:GO Tournament organizer - to ask whether they'll offer an older version of their leagues until the update is available.
