9 . What Your Parents Taught You About Best Shark Robot Vacuum
The Best Shark Robot Vacuum

Shark's robot vacuum checks most of the features you'd expect from a midrange machine. It has reliable cleaning performance, an easy-to-use mobile app and produces accurate home maps.

It also has Matrix Clean Navigation, a system that makes two passes in a row, before moving to the side to provide complete coverage. Its base is unbagged, which is different from other robot vacuums.

1. Roborock S4

This is a great robot vacuum for flooring that is not in use with a large dirt container that can pick up debris. The app lets you manage cleaning and docking. Its smart pathing is highly efficient. The app also gives you an easy overview of your cleaning needs, which includes a map of where the S4 has been cleaned, cleaning duration and battery life.

Its maximum suction of 2,000Pa is enough to lift an AA battery off the floor, and is comparable to that of some full-sized vacuums. With 19CFM the S4's side and combination brush is closer to the front than in other Roborock models, which may be a way to cut down on clogging.

The S4's advanced navigation technology can digitally map a home up to four levels and will remember the areas it's cleaned, making it easy to create an agenda for cleaning without the need to manually move the robot between rooms. You can designate certain areas as "no-go zones" to deter the S4 from cleaning those areas.

It was able to clean an entire level of our home easily and was very effective on bare flooring. However, it was not successful in collecting hair from dogs, which is a common problem for a lot of robotic vacuums. Only 8.5 percent of the hair was collected in the dustbin. The rest was clumped around the brushes and suction inlet.

The S4 is lighter and smaller than other Shark vacuums. This makes it easier to maneuver. It is able to make more precise turns and avoid obstacles that slow down other robots. The low-profile design also allows it to be placed under furniture. It has improved climbing capabilities for navigating flooring transitions and different flooring heights. It can even reach the bottom of the stairs and is a great choice for homes with multiple levels. The application lets you set a schedule and also includes a manual control for vacuuming. It can also return to its charging station to charge automatically between cleaning cycles. It comes with a massive 5200 mAh battery that is designed to last for 150 minutes or 2691 square feet between charges in standard mode.

2. Shark EZ Robot Self-Empty

This Shark robot vacuum is an excellent option for pet owners looking for a machine that's easy to use and smart. Its self-emptying base that is bagless is a major benefit particularly when compared to other vacuums that use disposable dirt bags on their bases. You can empty the bin over a trashcan by simply removing it. It's messy, but you save money on the replacement bags.

The bin itself is also fairly large, meaning that the EZ Robot is capable of handling a good amount of debris. It's also a good performer on floors that are clean, although it has some issues with dirt that has been embedded on carpets with a low pile. It has excellent navigation capabilities and a small footprint.

Although the EZ Robot isn't as good as the Roborock S4, it's still an excellent option for those who want a high-quality affordable robot. It's well-built and has many automation options. It also has an impressive cleaning capability for floors with no carpet as well as carpets with a lot of pile. Its maintenance requirements are high and the recurring expenses are very high.

Another excellent feature of this Shark robot is its capability to recharge and automatically resume where it left off when it returns to its docking station after the full cleaning. This is a great feature, especially when your home is big.

The IQ XL is also equipped with a variety of useful features, like the capability to remotely schedule entire-home cleaning sessions and review the results via the SharkClean app. You can also use voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to start and stop cleaning sessions. Its row-by-row cleaning mode is a major benefit and it also cleans your entire home in neat rows instead of the back-and-forth snake design of many other robots.

The biggest drawback of the IQ XL is its inability to climb over obstacles like power cords, which it may consider solid barriers to avoid climbing over. It's also less effective or quick in navigating a space that is cluttered with pet hair. This can cause tangles to the brushes and slow it down.

3. Shark AI Robot

This is a great robotic vacuum from Shark that comes with a variety of features. It has a self-emptying base that holds up to 30 days of debris. It it combines the power of both a robot vacuum and a mop. It also has a precise grid-based cleaning mode and advanced smart home integration that supports Alexa and Google Assistant. You can set it to clean on a regular basis or activate at any time, or create virtual boundaries to block it from entering rooms that contain fragile items or rugs.

The Shark AI Robot does a great job cleaning floors with no carpet. It can pick up dirt effortlessly, like rice. It isn't able to removing large, bulky debris from carpets with low pile and isn't able to maneuver around furniture that is large. It has a do not disturb mode which allows you to use it at home without interrupting your routine.

Another positive is that it uses LiDAR technology to map out your home which allows it to detect and navigate around obstacles with greater precision than devices that rely on gyroscopes or infrared sensors. This helps it avoid hitting fragile objects and to optimize dirt collection on different surfaces. The LiDAR system is also faster than gyroscopes that can cause robots to slow down or lose control when they come across uneven surfaces.

It comes with a variety of other features, including a remote, automatic mopping and various vacuum modes. It is able to charge and recharge while it's working. The main disadvantage is that it can only map out only one floor of your house, so if you have two stories, it will be necessary to manually transport it to those areas at the beginning of the run, and then program it to repeat.

It can also be loud, particularly when in mopping mode. It also has a lot of components that must be replaced or cleaned regularly and this adds to its recurring costs. Fortunately, the base self-empty feature reduces some of these expenses and it's compatible with bagless filters, which further reduces its annual expenses.

4. Shark ION Robot RV700 Series

The Shark ION Robot RV700 Series is a complete package that meets all the criteria you'd expect from a mid-range robotic vacuum, including high-quality cleaning performance and a great mobile app that creates precise home maps. The bagless base eliminates the need to purchase dust bags to replace every year. In our test of cleaning performance it was able to remove 97.8% of debris from carpeting and hardwood floors however it was not as effective on high-pile carpeting. Its maneuverability is strong and it is able to maneuver around furniture, climb on carpeting with high pile, and traverse objects such as rug tassels, electrical cords, and rug tassels without getting stuck.

Its high-tensile bristles in a helix pattern are sturdy enough to manage and untangle long hair, string and other fibers and the brushroll comes with an edge that retracts and can be used when it comes across obstacles. Its slim design permits it to slide under furniture and proximity sensors allow it to adapt and analyze the obstacles. The app allows you to schedule cleaning times or activate the machine with the press of a button. It has a moderate sound level, but can be quieted by using the do not disturb mode or custom scheduling.

The RV700 is more manual than the Roborock S4 and iRobot Roomba J7+, which is to be expected from a non-self-emptying model. But, it is more robust and easy to maintain, is faster in charging and clears more debris on floors that are not bare and carpets with high pile. Its navigation system is able to create virtual boundaries, detect obstacles and avoid them, and also create virtual boundaries. This makes it the best option for robotic cleaners that you can "set and forget".

The RV700 Series does not have a cliff-sensor to keep it from falling down stairs. sources tell me could pose a problem for those who live in taller houses. It's also not able to vacuum and mop at the same time and requires users to switch between two modes available in the app. The RV700 Series offers a cheaper alternative to more advanced Roborock and iRobot robots that have self-emptying capabilities and cliff detection. Its primary selling point is the ability to be recharged and emptied when docked at its base. This makes it a great choice for those who don't need to empty the dustbin each time they use it.
