Counter Strike New Revealed
After weeks of rumors, Valve has finally announced Counter Strike new. It's an update for CS:GO that will put the game on the Source 2 engine and make some major visual changes.
It also includes responsive smoke grenades as well as sub-tick updates for servers. It's made a lot of armchair gamers scream however, it appears to be an upgrade for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting a major update that will fundamentally alter the method of using smokes in the game. The changes are being described as responsive smokes and will be a significant game changer. Smokes will expand to fill up spaces naturally and then move around objects on the map. They will also respond to the lighting of the game, making them appear more attractive and realistic. Smokes will also to interact with game events. This will create new opportunities for tactical play. Bullets, for instance, will cause smoke to be pushed to temporarily clear sightlines. Hex grenade blasts will also disperse smoke obstruction.
The most significant change in smokes is that they will be a more dynamic element of the game. Smokes in previous versions were fixed-shaped objects that had a restricted ability to move and blocking. The new smokes will occupy the space where they are placed and block more of a player's vision when they are present. This is a major improvement that will make the game more exciting and will give both sides the same view.
Smokes can also react to the lighting and weapons as well as the environment in the world space. This will make smoke more realistic and offer players to use it to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is especially beneficial during the chaotic matches that will take place on every map.
Smokes are no longer a one-way. This was a major problem in CSGO, as it allowed players to see the position of their opponent behind the smoke. Twistzz is a renowned CS:GO professional who believes the new system makes CS2 more fair for both teams.
Other minor changes include adjusting the vertical location of smoke particles to prevent seeing through edges and changing the smoke overlay visuals to reflect their camera's position. The expiration of smokes was changed to match the visuals displayed on screen.
Loadouts
Players of CS:GO can now alter their weapon choices prior to the start of every game. The new loadout system lets the players to choose weapons that suit their playstyles and team's strategies. The updated system adds new depth to the game, as players must balance both the power of their weapons and their utility.
In addition to the new loadouts in addition to the new loadouts, the CS: GO update includes several other enhancements and changes. The buy menu was completely redesigned. The old buy wheel has been replaced by a customizable grid that shows all purchase options simultaneously. The grid is populated with five pistols and five "mid-tier weapons" such a submachine guns, shotguns and rifles.
The new system will be easy to use, and will give players more control over the weapon they choose. They can pick the weapons which best suit their playstyle, team strategy and play around with different combinations. It will also enable players to test their skills against other players' loadouts, and see how they compare.
Many players have praised the flexibility, while others have criticized it for straying from the fundamental premise of Counter-Strike. There have been concerns about how it could affect the specific loadouts for maps and skins of agents based on visibility.
In spite of these criticisms the new loadout system will be tested more thoroughly in the coming months. Some of these issues could be addressed in future updates. It is essential to stay updated for more information.
In addition to the brand new CS: GO features, the new update also includes Workshop Tools which can be enabled in the game's settings menu. These tools enable community contributors to design weapon finishes, stickers, and maps. Additionally, the update will now live ban players who violate the rules of VAC during matches.
The latest CS: GO update is set to be released later this summer. Players can now look over the complete list of features and upgrades by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates
The world of Counter-Strike is updated by the server in discrete time increments called ticks. Valve wants to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. Even the tiniest delay can affect the accuracy of an attack. A new video highlights the biggest improvements to the game, also known as sub tick updates.
Instead of a 64-tick update every millisecond, CS:GO now uses sub-ticks, or as Valve calls them, "micro ticks", to communicate with servers. Each of these small increments of time will be recorded by the client and transmitted to the server, which will then return the updated game state back to players. The servers will now know the exact moment you fired your shot, jumped, peeked, and other inputs.
Although a minute-long video may not enough to fully explain everything the video explains that every piece of information sent by clients has a time stamp, and that the server will collect all the information from all players in chronological order prior to sending it back. According to the video it is believed that a CS: GO server will be able to send up to twice as much data as a 64-tick servers.
This means that even the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz, the game will still be able to handle your commands instantly. The micro-tick updates also reduce the time it takes to input by ensuring that the server responds to your actions without delays or glitches.
It's evident that this is just the beginning of the technological enhancements Valve is making to the game. Valve employs particles and smoke that are dynamic to enhance the way smoke interacts with its environment. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures, and models. All CS weapons and cosmetics will also be updated with Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
The upcoming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, as well as some old favorites that are getting facelifts. These updates are being tested in limited beta. The first set of maps include touchstone and upgrade maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, while others have been fully rebuilt or overhauled with the latest Source 2 tools.
Overpass is one of the maps that has been reworked in order to benefit from the new engine's unified illumination system. The underpass of the map has been filled with daylight, making the space more spacious and less crowded. Smoke grenades are now expanding dynamically to fill in spaces, and interact with light.
Italy is a second map that has been overhauled. cs2 cases , texture, and structure have all been significantly improved. The new version has a more balanced feel than its predecessor which was heavily CT focused. Fans can expect more classics, like Aztec and Militia, to be revamped in the near future.
While many of these maps remain available in other modes, they're not being added to the map pool for competitive play. The exception is Train which was removed from Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve has not yet confirmed if the other maps removed from the pool will be added back.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. The change has been deemed controversial. The newspaper has been a vocal critic of Russia's actions in Ukraine, and the map is based from the city devastated by war, Donetsk. The map is dubbed de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.
In the near future, the developer will be releasing a set Source 2 tools for community map makers to use in their own creations. This will include features such as improved lighting and character reading, as well a physically-based rendering system which creates realistic materials and textures. It will also allow for easier implementation of real-world objects, like windows and doors. The update is set to be released sometime in the summer.
