Organisms and cells
1.1 Characteristics of living things

The seven-life process which are Movement, reproduction, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, and nutrition which people shorten it down and call it MRS GREN:
M- Movement, Movement helps living things move from one place to another. Most living organisms move their whole body while some just move parts of their body. Animals need to move to find food, shelter, and escape danger.
R- Reproduction, Organisms need to reproduce to make a new organism like themselves. They need offspring so that their kind won't go extinct.
S- Sensitivity- Sensitivity in needed so that organisms know about their surroundings, so they know if danger is near.
G- Growth, all living organisms need to grow as growth is the key to reproduction and humans need to reproduce.
R- Respiration, when humans eat there is energy in food which respiration releases for humans to get.
E- Excretion, Organisms make waste products which needs to leave the body, so excretion removes them.
N- Nutrition- One of the most needed things living things need is nutrition which they can find in the food they eat which is the key for humans to survive.

1.2 Cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems

Humans have many organs like two lungs, one heart, and one brain etc.
Some human organs are the:
Skin- protects you and helps you sense things.
Lungs- Your two lungs get oxygen into your blood and remove carbon dioxide.
Blood Vessels- tubes that carry blood.
Heart- pumps blood through blood vessels
Liver- makes and destroys substances.
Small Intestine- digests food and absorbs it into the blood.
Diaphragm- muscular organs that helps you breath.
Stomach- helps you digest food.
Kidney- your two kidneys clean and produce urine.
Large Intestine- removes water from undigested food.
Bladder- stores urine
There are also many different systems in the body like:
Circulatory System- moves blood to all parts of your body and the organs include Heart, and Blood Vessel
Skeletal System- supports and protects your body and allows you to move and the organs include: All Bones e.g. Femur bone.
Nervous System- controls all the senses in your body and the organs include Brain, Spinal Cord, and Nerves
Respiratory System- gets oxygen into your body and removes carbon dioxide and the organs include Windpipe, and Lungs
Digestive system- digests your food and absorbs nutrients into your blood and the organs include Gullet, Stomach, Small Intestine, and Large Intestine
There are also many plant organs like leaves, flowers, stem and roots and they do:
Leaf- an organ that uses light to help make food for the plant.
Flower- contains the reproductive organs, which make seeds
Stem- an organ that carries substances around the plant, helps to support the plant and hold its leaf in place
Root- an organ that absorbs water from the soil, and holds the plant in place
