Boston massacre: British soldiers surround a goverment building. An angry crowd gathers.
A soldier goes to look for help. The other soldiers point there guns at the crowd. Commander yells "don't fire". A soldier hears fire and fires into the crowd. Many people of the crowd run away, some stay. They contuine to fight. 5 colonists dead 8 wounded. British soliders were put on trial for murder. John adams was there lawyer. Found not guilty.
Boston Tea Party: British east indian company ships arrive in Boston. That evening the sons of liberty digguess themselves as indians and go onto the ships. 342 crates of tea was thrown into the the water. British soldiers notice and question sam adams. Sam adams says they had nothing to do with it, it was the indians.
Intolerable acts: known as the coerive acts, 1. Boston harbor is closed until all the tea is payed for 2. No more town meetings in Massachusetts. 3. All trials concerning british soldiers take place in England. 4. Colonists are forced to shelter british troops. (British troops were there to police them)
1st cont congress: "an attack on one colony, is an attack on all." Agreed to boycott all brithish products. Agreed to put together militias in every colony. agreed to meet again
Additional facts: Meeting took place in Philidelphia pennsylvania, represtnatives from 12/13 colonies, none from Georgia. Sam adams: leader of sol John adams: future president 2nd John jay: Future chief justic of supreme court Ph: "Give me liberty or give me death." General james gage: Leader of all british troops in the colonies.
Sam adams and John Hancock:Wealthy buisness men who hid from british troops in lexington. British troops march to lexington to find them. Paul revere, sam presscot, and will dawes rode horses going from town to town warning colonists the british were coming. Battle at
