The Economist's List of Crime by Cities
The Economist has released a report ranking the safest cities in the world in 2021. To determine the best places to live, the list includes personal safety indicators, environmental security, and digital security. These factors can have an impact upon crime rates. However, there is no single factor that will account for all crimes in a given city.

A recent study by MoneyGeek has identified the most dangerous cities in the US based on the number of violent crimes per thousand residents. The list includes homicides. Rapes, armed burglaries, and aggravated assassault. According to the report, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the U.S., but Milnes says it is difficult to pinpoint the reason for this high rate. For one, the city's population is declining, and the metro area has not grown faster than the nation's overall population since 2001.
