BMW i8 Insurance Cost - How to Reduce It?
When I first got my BMW i8, I didn't have any BMW I8 insurance . I'd been driving for a while and had a policy with my existing car company. Being a young man in the prime of our lives, we needed to save money and get insurance cheap. The whole idea of paying a monthly premium seemed ludicrous to us.
So we quickly shopped around and found the cheapest quote that we could find for a BMW i8. To make matters worse we had never bought a car before, so the specialist might not have given us a good quote on our car. We were about to buy a second hand car when we discovered this brilliant bit of information. If you're buying your own car you can normally get an insurance policy discounted by your age. linkedin is because as the majority of cars are older then they're less likely to be involved in an accident than newer cars. Obviously this isn't the case if you're looking to insure your BMW i8.
The reason why BMW auto insurance is cheaper for me is because I'm a man in my thirties. I wouldn't pay the insurance for a woman in her fifties or a man in his forties. It also saves the insurers money because they don't need to pay as many claims on the same car. There's no point insuring the same car for two different drivers. If one of those drivers is injured then they would have to pay twice as much to get the claim paid.
Let's assume that I was able to get a discount by getting the same car insurance cover from a different provider. This would obviously mean that the quotes for BMW i8 insurance would be different. I then made the decision to get a specialist broker and compare the quotes I got from different insurers. Here's how it worked.
I arranged to have a chat with my broker on the phone prior to getting into the car. He told me that the car I'd bought was an asset and would cost the insurer far less to insure. He also pointed out that I've got a clean record and haven't been involved in an accident or any other problems with the car. This would mean that the cost of my cover would be reduced.
I didn't know that there were such things as car insurance discounts. I didn't realize that I could qualify for a discount which would knock about ten per cent off the cost of my cover. All I did now was go online and find out what discounts were available to me. I found that I qualified for three and it was just a matter of filling in the forms.
Once I'd done that I just filled in the necessary details and submitted to the company. Within a few days I got an email back with the details of my discount. It was a great feeling sitting in the car, knowing that everything was going to be taken care of for me. I've got my car covered for the cost of its retail price and have saved myself hundreds of pounds. I'll definitely continue to get quotes from BMW i8 insurance and will probably also save towards my car insurance for the next couple of years as well.
I wish I'd discovered these discounts long before. I would have found that buying my car insurance from a specialist agency would have meant that I've saved myself a lot of money. Don't rush into taking out your auto protection unless you're absolutely sure that you know what you're doing. The more time you take to do your research and understand your insurance options the better it is for you in the long run.
