How to Find Your Zodiac Signs
Many of us are familiar with our Sun sign — that's the zodiac sign determined by our birthday. But a birth chart contains so much more, including the planets and their placements in different signs, as well as certain points (like your Rising sign, determined by where the constellation was on the horizon when you were born).

The Western zodiac is based on 12 constellations that appear to move regularly around the ecliptic, the line that Earth revolves around. But this movement is actually caused by a wobble in the Earth’s rotational axis, known as precession, which causes the stars to appear to rotate at different speeds. This means astrological signs don’t align with constellations, as we commonly assume.

As a result, it's not uncommon to hear of people who aren’t a match for their zodiac sign. But it doesn't have to be that way, and it certainly doesn’t have to be the case for you. Despite popular belief, there is a way to find your star sign and have it align with the constellations that make up the zodiac.

To do so, simply enter the date of your birth into a free online planetarium program and you'll see which constellation is associated with your star sign. You'll also be able to compare your Western and Chinese zodiac signs to make sure they line up.

Aries (March 21-April 20): Ruled by Mars, the warrior planet, Aries is bold and confident. Often impulsive, they're quick to start projects but are more likely to lose interest than finish them. The youngest sign, it’s no wonder why Aries is the most adventuresome.

Leo (July 23-August 22): Magnetic and regal, this fire sign is all about self-expression. They love to be the center of attention, but they have a strong sense of loyalty and are genuinely kind. They're also passionate and courageous, and they have an unmistakable charm.

Astrology Virgo (August 23-September 22): Intelligent and analytical, Virgos have an uncanny ability to pick up on what's really going on in their surroundings. However, their desire for perfection can sometimes get in the way of trusting their gut instincts.

Libra (September 23-October 22): No sign understands the concept of balance, light against dark and right vs wrong like the Libra. In mythology, this sign is associated with the Greek goddess Themis, who presides over justice. The symbol for this sign is a pair of scales, further supporting the theme of fairness and equality that Libras live by.

Scorpio (October 23-December 21): Vivacious, witty and mysterious, Scorpios are often misunderstood. But they're also loyal, resourceful and deeply intuitive. They can also be passionate and dramatic, but they're not easily fooled.
