Super Mario Bros Movie Review looks
The last time the world's favourite moustachioed Italian-American plumber landed on the large display, in 1993's Bob Hoskins-starring live motion film, the results have been a bit mixed. The animated Super Mario Bros Movie looks to reclaim that glory with an all-star forged, colorful animation type, and a great deal of references to the series' iconic video games.

But it is a case of an excessive quantity of, too quickly with this one. While the movie is a enjoyable journey for teenagers, it isn't humorous or creative enough to fulfill adults or even most teens. Moreover, its pacing is simply too frantic and the voice performing goes full mainstream (with the exception of Juliet Jelenic, co-director Michael's daughter, whose gleeful nihilism as Lumalee delivers massive laughs).

Super Mario Bros Movie stars Chris Pratt and Charlie Day as brothers working a plumbing enterprise in Brooklyn. While tackling a water primary leak beneath the city, they're sucked through a green-piped portal and wind up in the Mushroom Kingdom, ruled by Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy). There, Bowser (Jack Black) wants to marry her, so he kidnaps her and threatens to destroy her Toad-filled home.

This film is chock-full of video game references and nods to the franchise that fans will love. The opening sequence is a montage of traditional Mario gameplay, and there's additionally a go to to Rainbow Road from the Super Mario Kart video game.

The Super Mario Bros Movie is a pleasant animated journey for teenagers and their mother and father, crammed with colourful characters, nonstop motion, and plenty of references to the Nintendo franchise. The movie's plot is a bit predictable, but the story is fast-paced and lots of fun. It's also an excellent family-friendly film that accommodates some gentle humor and gentle violence.
