The mighty god of thunder returns on this third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the film veers into greeting card triteness in its themes of affection and sacrifice and harvests web memes in its humor. It also suffers from some uneven pacing and a lack of urgency, especially in the motion scenes. Still, this is an entertaining film with some solid messages that transcend the style. Kids will enjoy the motion and humor, and adults will respect its deeper themes of humility and family..
