It bothers me a lot that one would give up their dream just because of math. Math truly is innately complex, there are an infinite amounts of formulas and math rules, so much so that we cant blame some people that "hate" math. But we cannot escape math, it is all around us ; it is the language of the universe after all. In STEM I learned to love math, how you may ask? This is because STEM also improved significantly my critical thinking skills, I learned to see math in a different perspective, beyond its façade of formulas and rules. Math is a tool that we can manipulate to help us understand the world around us and solve daily problems we encounter. Math shouldn't control us, instead, we should control math. In STEM, I became more creative, I learned to make my own math formulas, that apply to specific problems I'm solving. STEM helped me understand that math isn't just following a single process to arrive at an answer, math is flexible, if we understand it sufficiently we can create our own process, just like the mathematicians before us. Overcome the fear that grapples you, it is counterintuitive that we avoid STEM because we are scared of math, we should take stem so that we can understand math. Learning should not be feared, humans are inherently curious beings, we should thirst for knowledge and chase learning in a healthy and passionate approach.
