Tall skyscrapers loomed overhead, casting long shadows that danced with the rhythm of the night. Despite the vibrant energy of the city, Akira felt a sense of emptiness gnawing at his soul—a void that no amount of urban chaos could fill.
As he walked, memories of the past flooded his mind like a relentless tide. Lost in thought, Akira almost missed the small envelope that fluttered to the ground at his feet. Picking it up, he turned it over in his hands, noting the elegant script that adorned the front. There was no return address, no indication of who it was from. Curiosity piqued, Akira tore open the envelope and withdrew the single piece of paper inside.
The message was short and cryptic, yet it sent a chill down his spine:
You are cordially invited to Creeks Mansion.
No further explanation, no hint as to why he had been chosen. But something about the invitation called to him—a whisper of destiny, perhaps, or a glimmer of hope in the darkness that surrounded him.
Without hesitation, Akira made his decision. Clutching the invitation tightly in his hand, he set off towards Creeks Mansion, his heart pounding with anticipation and dread.
As he approached the towering gates of the mansion, Akira couldn't shake the feeling that he was stepping into the unknown—that he was about to embark on a journey that would change his life forever. With a deep breath, he pushed open the gates and crossed the threshold into the heart of darkness.
