Opening day 2016 league

Hey folks and welcome to Opening Day 2016. I am very excited into kicking off the league this season. I think we have the best core of guys yet! After witnessing failing leagues the past year I teamed up with my admins and developed a brand new system into managing a successful league. I will get into all that below but before I want to say a little about me because I think it's important my members know me on a more personal level in order to build a trust with all of you. Born and raised in the city of Boston, am a huge sports fanatic and take my work very seriously. I play varsity soccer and hockey but am off duty during the spring to watch my sox tear it up in the AL east and most importantly managing this league. I also am heavily induced into school work and will not put video gaming over that however I do manage my time fairly well. With that being said I also am a party kid and will most likely see my popping videos here and there when I'm out drinking with the boys/girls. Part of life, we have all been at this stage.

Are you sick of sitting in a GroupMe chat, and having 12 people trying to iron out a ridiculous blockbuster trade, and meanwhile there are 0 franchise games occurring? Don't get me wrong im all for casual conversation and getting to know the people in the league, but when it becomes a social network instead of a gaming platform, that's where I have a problem. With that being said I have adjusted some guidelines in order for all of that to come together as a whole. I sure were on the same stage here.

Rules of the League (keep in mind this is a sim type baseball league)

1) No excessive suicide squeezing // I understand if your down by 1-2 and want to get a run across the plate however you may not use this in your favor aggressively by any means. We are all mature adults here, your opponent is to be the judge if this occurs

2) No excessive stealing // in other words if up by 6+ you may not steal or attempt a hit or run

3) Quitting is against the rules. However, conceding defeat is allowed. Anyone found quitting will be kicked from the league

4) Forcing a win while a player is paused will result in disciplinary action and you will also receive an automatic loss

5) You must use a full five (5) man pitching rotation. You may use a short rotation in the playoffs; three (3) minimum

6) Due to the risk of injury, you are not allowed to hit a batter excessively. Anyone found doing this will be handled accordingly

7) On bunts or infield hits, base runners should only take one (1) base unless an error occurs

8) Please allow enough time on 1st Pitch of the at-bat in case the player wants to make a substitution

9) Everything is off except for balks // please make sure you know that balks are on as they are part of the game... I suggest you practice with it prior to playing in a league game as they could be costly and lead to self frustration

Trading // Free Agent Rules

1) Every user must play a minimum of 10 games before being eligible to trade

2) Trades are reviewed by admins, and are subject to veto if it is deemed too unfair. If you don’t like it, don’t join

3) Maximum of 4 trades per season

4) Every time you make an addition to your team from the free agent market you must also drop a player
