Selain itu, letak dari benda tersebut pun harus diketahui. Mantra ini tidak dapat digunakan pada bangunan. Mantra Accio juga tidak bekerja pada kebanyakan makhluk hidup, termasuk manusia, dan salah satunya seperti tidak dianggap layak untuk dipanggil, seperti Flobberworm. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mantra ini dikhususkan untuk benda. Tapi tidak semua benda dapat di-Accio. Adapula Counter Spell yang dapat digunakan pada benda untuk menjaga mereka dari yang dipanggil, yakni Anti-Theft Charm (hanya pemilik yang sah yang dapat menga-Accio-kannya).
