Slot missions can be a great way to acquire weapons, gear and more. But they're also hard to do.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot allows you to carry pistols on a mission. Some people make use of it to reach certain goals, especially those who want to achieve Suit Only. Some players use the extra pistol to fill in gaps. When using this slot, it is important to keep in mind that you'll need to click the appropriate pistol category button, like the slot 2 alternative for machine guns, to select the category of your choice. Being able to have Major Expedition and Adept Rider in use makes it much simpler. This combo also gives you an attack tick from the Concealed Weapon every 10 seconds so long as it is slotted.


Slot for items being smuggled

The smuggled items slot is an excellent feature that lets players bring weapons and tools into the game, but it can be improved. It's currently shaped like pistols, which makes it hard to distinguish the smuggled item slot from other slots for gear.

The smuggle slot is able to hold an array of items, from subtle concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items are hidden in locations around the map. They can also be retrieved at any time. Smuggled items are different from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes which conceal small objects hidden in the scenery and objects.

Mission planning is a function available in episodic missions that lets players discover different starting locations, smuggled items and gear slots prior to their entry into the map. As players progress through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning expand. This allows players to create the perfect mission for every difficulty.

Gear Slot

The slots for gear will quickly fill up early in the game, which will result in the dreaded message "Your Gear Slots Are Full". This message stops Max from acquiring new equipment until the previous items are removed or more space has been obtained. The solution to this problem is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which give players more inventory space in exchange for completing challenges. Since a lot of these challenges can be missed and are scattered around the globe, it might take some time to obtain the most inventory slots in the game.

Each player can have up to five different types of gear in their five Gear Slots. These are to be selected from the Gear Selection menu prior to a Break-In. Each gear item (except for the Pistol), takes up one Gear Slot, while a grouping of similar items (such as a grouping of Grenades) only uses one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you progress through Mission Mastery levels, you unlock various agency pickups throughout the map. These locations allow you to store an item that does not fit in your concealed slot for weapons or gear and retrieve them later.

These pickups are especially useful if you have to go through a frisk in the course of the course of your mission, or if you are carrying a weapon that might otherwise be suspect. However, you can only conceal one item per game at a pickup location for agencies.
