How to Fix Seat Ibiza Key Problems

Key fob not locking, or unlocking the doors.
There are several possible reasons that you aren't able to lock or unlock the doors with your key fob. Check that all doors and the trunk (boot) have been closed. Your car will notify you when the doors are open by flashing an indicator light or by the car's humming.
Another reason why your key fob isn't working is because it's undergoing interference. This could happen in the event that there are other transmitters within the vicinity or if other objects interfere with the signal. If you're experiencing this issue, try using your spare key to determine whether it works.
If your key fob has been exposed to water, immediately take it off and clean it. This will prevent the chip from corroding and will ensure it gets a constant supply of power. If the battery is defective and you need to replace it with a brand new one that has the same size and voltage. Then, reconnect the battery's terminals, and then test again the key. This will reset all the electronic components that are on the board.
Dead coin battery
If your key fob isn't locking, or unlocking the doors, the most likely cause is a dead coin battery. It's fixable in a matter minutes and can find replacement batteries at any auto parts retailer. Be sure to replace the battery with one that is identical in size in voltage, capacity, and specification. It is also recommended to clean all electronic components that are exposed using isopropyl or electronic cleaner to avoid water damage. If you expose the chip in your Seat Ibiza's key to soapy or salty water, it will be destroyed.
If you notice the key fob is becoming more difficult to lock or unlock the doors, it could indicate that the battery is depleted.
Faulty key

Replace the cover, then put the key back in place. Then test it to make sure it works. If it works you can change it and reprogram it to ensure it works with your vehicle.
Receiver module that is defective
Key fob malfunctions are usually caused by a faulty receiver module that is part of the seat Ibiza. The issue could be caused by many factors that include a dead or defective coin battery, signal interference, or a malfunctioning electronic chip in the key fob. The immobilizer system inside the car verifies that the key is in the correct place and shuts down the engine if it detects a non-compatible signal.
If your key fob was exposed to water, take the battery off first and clean the electronic component with isopropyl or electronic cleaner. After cleaning the electronic component let it completely dry before replacing the battery.
To change the battery, simply open the cover of your key fob, and use a flat-head nail to push it upwards. Insert the new battery and ensure that its "+" polarity faces upwards. Close the compartment for batteries after replacing the battery. Then close the key fob. This should resolve the problem. However, if the fob still doesn't work after attempting all these solutions, it might be the right time to replace the device.
