Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles that are found on most doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors. They are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with a high performance and durability for its intended purpose.

All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. They work by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock body and allowing them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is crucial. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with cylinders with greater security and internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features which can enhance security further, such as anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure it's the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to the end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place, but in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. It is essential to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are designed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This can to deflect an attack and keep your door safe.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and less difficult than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits in the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. In the past, a lot of these types of handle did not have a spring built into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism has been disengaged.
