This research provides an exploration of a biomimetic approach in the process of designing a candelabra model using linear shaped leaves of a Bell flower. The design process described in this research contains two steps biological and geometrical. In the first biological step, a proper model for the creation of an urban element was found from nature in a Bell flower (Campanula persicifolia L.). The upper leaves of the selected plant, which are small with a linear spear and sharpening at the top, were chosen for the modeling process. The second step included applying two geometrical methods, i.e., Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulation. A geometrical leaf form of the selected plant species and the modeling process were obtained using aparametric modeling software, Blender. Using different Blender plug-ins and modifiers, Delaunay triangulation and Voronoi diagram were implemented by marking the starting points on the leaf form in the image data source, adjusting the Delaunay triangulation parameters, and creating Voronoi diagrams in which the Voronoi points were located at the shortest distance from the edges of the Voronoi polygon. Consequently, a three dimensional model of a candelabra was developed through this study.The 2019 new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is a novel respiratory virus which has increasingly spread all over the world. Although the predominant clinical presentation is represented by respiratory symptoms, neurological manifestation of SARS-CoV-2 is being increasingly recognized. In the present report, we present a case of post SARS-CoV-2 autoimmune encephalitis associated with a new-onset refractory status epilepticus (NORSE).Nevus of Ota, nevus of Ito and nevus of Hori are special melanocytic nevi that have a slate-brown or blue/grey coloring. They are pigmented disorders characterized by its heterotopic melanocytic dermal location and by blue/brown unilateral and sometimes bilateral facial patch in case of nevus of Ota, and in the supraclavicular, scapular, and deltoid region in case of nevus of Ito. It is more common in patients with Asian and dark-skinned ethnic backgrounds. Histologically, elongated, dendritic melanocytes are seen scattered mainly throughout the upper third of reticular dermis. An acquired variant is called Hori's nevus with more bilateral facial distribution, similar to melasma. Dermal melanocytosis can also occur elsewhere on the body, including inside the mouth. Despite its benign nature, patients frequently seek therapy because of its facial involvement. QS lasers are used effectively to treat these lesions. The number of treatment sessions correlates with clinical improvement. Post laser hypo- and hyperpigmentation are common side effects mainly affecting patients with darker skin.A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, nonmotile, yellow-colored strain BT328T and Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile, red-colored strain BT18T were isolated from the soil collected in Korea. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain BT328T formed a distinct lineage within the family Spirosomaceae (order Cytophagales, class Cytophagia) and was most closely related to a member of the genus Spirosoma, Spirosoma terrae 15J9-4T (95.9% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity). Optimal growth occurred at 25 °C, pH 7.0 and in the absence of NaCl. The predominant cellular fatty acids were summed feature 3 (C161 ω6c/C161 ω7c) and C161 ω5c. The major respiratory quinone was MK-7. The major polar lipid was phosphatidylethanolamine. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain BT18T formed a distinct lineage within the family Hymenobacteraceae (order Cytophagales, class Cytophagia, phylum Bacteroidetes) and was most closely related to members of the genus Hymenobacter, Hymenobacter knuensis 16F7C-2T (97.0% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity). Optimal growth occurred at 25 °C and pH 7.0 without NaCl. The major fatty acids were iso-C150 and anteiso-C150. The major menaquinone was MK-7. The major polar lipid was phosphatidylethanolamine. Biochemical, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic analyses indicated that strains BT328T and BT18T represents a novel bacterial species within the genus Spirosoma and Hymenobacter, respectively. For which the name Spirosoma aureum and Hymenobacter russus is proposed. The type strain of S. aureum is BT328T (=KCTC 72365T = NBRC 114506T) and the type strain of H. russus is BT18T (=KCTC 62610T = NBRC 114380T).A gammaproteobacterial methanotroph, strain GJ1T, was isolated from a rhizosphere soil sample of rice in Nanjing, China. The cells were Gram-negative, motile rods with a single polar flagellum, and they contained type I intracytoplasmic membranes. The cells formed pink colonies. The strain possessed both the particulate methane monooxygenase enzyme (pMMO) and the soluble methane monooxygenase enzyme (sMMO). pxmABC, encoding a divergent methane monooxygenase (pXMO), and nifH, which encodes dinitrogenase reductase, were also present. Methane and methanol were utilized as sole carbon sources, while other carbon sources, including acetate, pyruvate, succinate, citrate, malate, glucose, urea, methylamine, ethanol and formate, could not be utilized by strain GJ1T. Cell grew optimally at 25-33 °C (range 16-37 °C), pH 6.0-8.0 (range 5.5-8.5) and 0-1.2% NaCl (no growth above 1.5% NaCl). Phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene, pmoA and nifH showed that the isolate belongs to the genus Methylomonas of the family Methylococcaceae within the class Gammaproteobacteria. The major quinone was determined to be MQ-8, and the major fatty acids were observed to be C161 and C140. The genome size of strain GJ1T is about 4.55 Mb, and the DNA G + C content of the strain was determined to be 53.67 mol% within the range of the genus Methylomonas (47-58 mol%) reported at present. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values between strain GJ1T and Methylomonas koyamae Fw12E-YT among the genus Methylomonas were the highest, and they were only 74.66% and 21.40%, respectively. In consequence, results of phenotypic characterization and phylogenetic analyses support strain GJ1T as a novel species within the genus Methylomonas, namely, Methylomonas rhizoryzae sp. nov.. The type strain is GJ1T (= ACCC 61706).Spontaneous pneumothorax (SP) is defined as the presence of free air inside the pleural space. Many studies have reported that meteorological variables may trigger SP, but the mechanism is unknown. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of meteorological variables on the development of SP in two regions with different altitudes. The study was conducted in the Çanakkale (2 m above sea level) and the Erzurum region (1758 m). A total of 494 patients with SP who presented to the hospitals of the two regions between January 2011 and December 2016 were included in the study. The meteorological variables used included ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, precipitation amount, wind speed, and wind direction (as north and south). The total 2192 days were divided into two as days with and without an SP case presentation. A 4-day period prior to the day a case presented was compared with the other days without any cases to investigate the presence of any lagged effect. Statistical significance was accepted at p  less then  0.05. Comparison of these two regions showed a significant difference between them. The meteorological variables of the regions that affect SP development were found to be low mean minimum temperature, high daily temperature change, low precipitation, low wind speed and north winds for Erzurum, and only rainy days for Çanakkale. The results have demonstrated that cold weather, sudden temperature changes, north winds, and low wind speed are risk factors for the development of SP at high altitudes.Water is a very critical nutrient in the diet of lactating animals as it performs several functions, viz., transfer of nutrients and excretions of waste products produced during metabolism, digestion, and body temperature regulation of all living organisms. Besides growth, other parameters like milk production, reproduction, adaptive potential, and feed consumption are also influenced by water status in feed and body reserves. Water intake in dairy cows is influenced directly or indirectly by several factors; direct factors include animal-related factors such as breed, body size, physiological stage, age, health, stress, and ecological adaptations and environmental factors, viz., season of the year, environmental temperature, humidity, wind speed, and precipitation. These factors significantly influence the drinking water intake of dairy cows. Nonetheless, different managemental practices such as rearing type, feeding practices, housing, water availability, and its quality can also affect water intake indirectly. However, overall understanding of these factors affecting water intake in dairy cows could help to improve the dairy husbandry practices and subsequently health, production, and welfare of dairy cows.
To compare the mortality rates between culture-positive and culture-negative sepsis in complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI) and investigate the predictors of culture-positivity and their causative microorganisms.

The medical records of 1581 adult patients who underwent emergency gastrointestinal surgery between January 2013 and December 2018 were reviewed retrospectively. A total of 239 patients with sepsis or septic shock who were admitted to an emergency department, underwent emergency surgery for cIAI, and needed postoperative intensive care unit care were included and divided into two groups according to their initial blood and peritoneal culture results.

Among the 239 patients, 200 were culture-negative and 39 were culture-positive. The culture-positive group had higher in-hospital (35.9% vs 14.5%; P = .001) and 30-day mortality (30.8% vs 12.0%; P = .003) than the culture-negative group. Colon involvement (OR 4.211; 95% CI 1.909-9.287; P < .001) and higher Sequential Organ Failure Assescci.
Berzosertib (formerly M6620) is the first-in-class inhibitor of ataxia-telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein, a key component of the DNA damage response, and being developed in combination with chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with advanced cancers. The objectives of this analysis were to characterize the pharmacokinetics (PK) of berzosertib across multiple studies and parts, estimate inter-individual variability, and identify covariates that could explain such variability.

A population PK analysis was performed using the combined dataset from two phase I clinical studies (NCT02157792, EudraCT 2013-005100-34) in patients with advanced cancers receiving an intravenous infusion of berzosertib alone or in combination with chemotherapy. The analysis included data from 240 patients across 11 dose levels (18-480mg/m
). Plasma concentration data were modeled with a non-linear mixed-effect approach and clinical covariates were evaluated.

PK data were best described by a two-compartment linear model. For a typical patient, the estimated clearance (CL) and intercompartmental CL were 65L/h and 295L/h, respectively, with central and peripheral volumes estimated to be 118L and 1030L, respectively. Several intrinsic factors were found to influence berzosertib PK, but none were considered clinically meaningful due to a very limited effect. Model simulations indicated that concentrations of berzosertib exceeded p-Chk1 (proximal pharmacodynamic biomarker) IC
at recommended phase II doses in combination with carboplatin, cisplatin, and gemcitabine.

There was no evidence of a clinically significant PK interaction between berzosertib and evaluated chemo-combinations. The covariate analysis did not highlight any need for dosing adjustments in the population studied to date.
