As a child, Iyi was the reserved type, which was odd for the curious, friendly group she lived in. She preferred to stay inside and read about all the discoveries to learn more, putting together patterns that weren't before seen. She didn't discover anything big for a long time, though, but that didn't matter to most around her. She was happy, and that was what was important to them. As long as she was learning about something she loved, her group supported her, and she would support them. She had plenty of friends despite being a quieter person, and by all accounts was great to be around and learn from.

One day, she noticed a new connection between some ideas that her group hadn't seemed to have looked into before. She'd realized that the new crops that had been struggling to thrive lately weren't just bad in their area, it was a problem because they neighbored wild crops that could carry diseases the new crops weren't used to due to non-natural breeding (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/07/240711111443.htm). She decided to do some experiments and show the evidence to the rest of her group, and they were so amazed that they suggested she spread the knowledge to as many catfolk and other groups as she could. Iyi was happy to agree, finally being noticed for something bigger than before, and set out to find a good group to adventure with.

By the time she wound up in the place she met the rest of the party, she'd only talked to a few people about her discovery, and her spirits had dampened considerably with the realization that a lot of people don't care. But she'll still keep a smile on her face, no matter what! That she can promise!
