The handles on your doors wear out with time and require to be replaced. It is crucial to keep the same dimensions as the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles inline or offset. They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with a spindle and screws which allow them to be installed on an existing or new uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a wider handle, which is typically a benefit when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles that slide out of the horizontal position when they are not in use.


When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is often referred to as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect of matching up the right handles.

After you have identified the correct PZ size, you will need to make sure that the push and lever pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They are typically square or round with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles come in both left and right handed models, allowing them to be put on either side of the doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. This reveals pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock, and permit them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with external and internal doors usually needing different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It depends on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can improve security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.

This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. It is important to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

The design of the latest cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This can help to deflect attacks and ensure your door is secure.

These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will require a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are available as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that is able to accommodate an 8mm shaft.
