ood trauma is associated with increased vulnerability to the stressful effect of the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak. Our data suggest that emotional dysregulation may represent a dimension mediating the impact of childhood trauma on coronavirus disease 2019-related psychological distress and may be considered as specific target for interventions aiming at empowering resilience.
Restaurants have the potential to improve nutrition and positively shape social norms. We describe lessons learned and recommended strategies from Eat Well El Paso! (EWEP), a local restaurant initiative.

Descriptive case study.

EWEP partnered with local restaurants from 2012-2017 in El Paso, Texas, along the US/Mexico border.

Our sampling frame included EWEP staff and managers/owners at participating restaurants, of which the majority participated (80% and 85%, respectively).

EWEP was a local restaurant initiative led by the city public health department. EWEP contracted registered dietitians to assist locally-owned restaurants to increase availability of healthy menu options.

Observation, key informant interviews, and document review assessed participation, barriers, and facilitators to restaurant participation and program sustainability.

Thematic and descriptive analyses.

57% of restaurants completed the full on-boarding process, but long-term retention was low (24% of completers). Restaurant managers/owners perceived value in marketing, nutritional analysis, and menu design. Barriers included scheduling, complexity of restaurant culture, fear of food inspections, restaurant turnover, competing responsibilities, and lack of dedicated funding.

Although local context and sample size may limit generalizability, lessons learned and recommended strategies are relevant and informative for communities working to increase restaurants' healthy menu options.

The current study used the Canadian Armed Forces Members and Veterans Mental Health Follow-up Survey (CAFVMHS) to (1) examine the incidence and prevalence of mental disorders and (2) estimate the comorbidity of mental disorders over the follow-up period.

The CAFVMHS (2018) is a longitudinal study with two time points of assessment. The sample is comprised of 2,941 Canadian Forces members and veterans who participated in the 2002 Canadian Community Health Survey Canadian Forces Supplement. The World Health Organization Composite International Diagnostic Interview (WHO-CIDI) was utilized to diagnose
-IV post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depressive episode (MDE), generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (SAD), and alcohol abuse and dependence. Self-report health professional diagnoses were assessed for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mania, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and personality disorder. We established weighted prevalence of mental disorders and exami and alcohol use disorders in these populations.
This study demonstrates a high burden of mental disorders among a large Canadian military and veteran cohort. These findings underscore the importance of prevention and intervention strategies to reduce the burden of mental disorders and alcohol use disorders in these populations.
An impaired sleep-wake cycle may be one factor that affects the development of delirium in critically ill patients. Several small studies suggest that exogenous melatonin or ramelteon may decrease the incidence and/or duration of delirium.

To compare the effect of prophylactic administration of melatonin, ramelteon, or no melatonin receptor agonist on the development of delirium in the intensive care unit (ICU).

This was a single-center, retrospective, observational cohort study of nondelirious patients in the ICU who received melatonin, ramelteon, or no melatonin receptor agonist. The primary end point was the incidence of delirium. Secondary end points included assessments of daily level of sedation and daily utilization of antipsychotic, sedative, and opioid agents.

No difference was observed in the incidence of delirium among the melatonin, ramelteon, and placebo cohorts (18.7% vs 14.3% vs 13.8%;
= 0.77). A difference was observed in the rate of agitation and sedation among the 3 groups, with the greatest observed in the melatonin cohort. Additionally, there was a difference in the use of propofol, dexmedetomidine, and opioids. Overall, there was no difference in clinical outcomes, including duration of mechanical ventilation and ICU or hospital length of stay.

Therapy with melatonin, ramelteon, and no melatonin receptor agonist resulted in similar rates of delirium in a mixed ICU population. p38 MAPK inhibitor Despite significant differences in agitation, sedation, and medication utilization, there was no differences in the clinical outcomes evaluated.

To assess the knowledge, awareness and attitude to orthodontic treatment of patients and parents of children with orofacial clefts, receiving comprehensive cleft care treatment.

Cross-sectional survey.

A major tertiary health care facility in Nigeria, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-araba, Lagos.

Patients and parents of children with orofacial clefts receiving comprehnsive cleft care.

Patients and parents of children with orofacial clefts were asked to complete the survey. Interviewer-administered questionnaires were used.

A total of 123 patients participated in the study, 55.3% (68) were females and 44.7% (55) were males. The majority (85.3%, 114) of patients were children aged between 0 and 5 years, while only 7.3% (9) were adults, aged 18 years and above. link2 About one-third (41) of the respondents indicated that they felt "their teeth was not straight." Although 43.9% (54) reported that they knew that braces could be used to straighten teeth, only 13.8% of the respondents knew who an oatients with clefts while also highlighting areas of importance for patient counseling and education in the orthodontic care for these patients.
Decades of literature demonstrate that occupational therapy is well-suited to collaborate with public health due to overlapping views of health. However, there has been little collaboration between these professions with few examinations of why they remain distinct.

This study examines historical events that have led to the present-day separation of occupational therapy and public health.

This narrative review and thematic analysis of the scholarly, archival, and grey literature was conducted to examine the development of both fields.

Fifty texts were analyzed revealing four themes the influence of structural and social forces; professional, societal, and institutional hindrances; potential for a shared vision; and next steps for integration. These themes highlight historical barriers to collaboration and provide evidence that occupational therapy could benefit public health.

Collaboration between occupational therapy and public health has many potential benefits, however new approaches to bridge the divide are needed to advance collaboration.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is a commonly encountered peripheral vestibular disorder. link3 People exposed to massive earthquakes experience intense and long-term problem associated with dizziness. The purpose of our study is to investigate this relationship and to demonstrate the efficacy of the treatment modalities used in the management of patients with post-earthquake dizziness.

The study was carried out by examining the retrospective records of patients who presented with dizziness to the otorhinolaryngological outpatient unit before and after the Elazig earthquake that occurred on 24th Jan 2020. Parameters evaluated include patients' age and gender, onset of dizziness, accompanying symptoms and comorbidities, videonystagmography (VNG) findings, pre- and post-treatment Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI), and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).

The number of patients who presented with dizziness to our outpatient clinic after the earthquake and were ifer from the classic BPPV. Residual symptoms appearing after performing repositioning maneuvers can be more commonly seen among these patients.
Although several therapeutic options have been suggested for alopecia areata (AA), none of them are consistently effective, thus making the management of severe or refractory cases challenging. Several studies have recently reported the usage of methotrexate (MTX) in AA; however, the pure effect of MTX monotherapy remains elusive.

To evaluate efficacy and safety of oral methotrexate monotherapy for AA.

We retrospectively reviewed the clinical course of AA patients including pediatric cases treated with MTX monotherapy. Their detailed clinical data including original severity of AA, final treatment outcome, the duration until the maximum response, and side effects, were assessed. Statistical analysis was performed to evaluate if the clinical factors including the duration of current alopecia, age, the presence of body hair loss, and sex were associated with treatment response.

All included patients had severe AA and failed standard therapies. Thirteen out of 15 cases demonstrated improvement during the monotherapy, and all responders demonstrated the maximum response within 1 year. Female patients had significantly better outcomes than male patients. Other factors did not significantly influence on the treatment outcome. None of the patients experienced side effects that were severe enough to terminate the treatment.

Our results support MTX monotherapy as a feasible option for severe AA patients who fail other standard therapies or for whom systemic corticosteroids are contraindicated.

Bone loss induced by microgravity is a serious problem in space flight. However, the effects of acupuncture stimulation on osteoporosis induced by microgravity have not been studied. With the goal of developing an effective countermeasure, our aim was to evaluate the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation at BL20, BL23, and SP6 on osteoporosis induced by simulated microgravity in rats.

Thirty male Wistar rats (aged 10 weeks) were randomly divided into three groups healthy control group (CON,
 = 10), hind limb unloading by tail-suspension group (T-S,
= 10), and EA treatment group (TRE,
= 10). Rats in the T-S and TRE groups were subjected to tail-suspension at -30° for 30 days, while the CON group experienced freedom of activity. In this period, the TRE group received EA treatment at BL20, BL23, and SP6 for 30 min every other day, which continued for 30 days. The microarchitecture of the proximal tibia and the biomechanical features of the femur in the rats were analyzed. In addition, the levels of serum biomarkers bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP) and osteocalcin (BGP) were measured.
