Simulation studies demonstrate these advantages of the proposed design. It is illustrated by an example based on an actual clinical trial in non-small-cell lung cancer.Vaccine top-ups might boost immune systems and block new coronavirus variants, but there are many unknowns, reports Graham Lawton.Berthella californica (W. H. Dall, 1900) is a widespread species of heterobranch sea slug distributed across the North Pacific Ocean, from Korea and Japan to the Galapagos Islands. Two distinct morphotypes are observed in B. californica, which differ in external coloration, egg-mass morphology and geographic distribution (with the exception of a small range overlap in Southern California). Molecular and morphological data obtained in this study reveals that these two morphotypes constitute distinct species. The name B. californica (type locality San Pedro, California) is retained for the southern morphotype, whereas the name Berthella chacei (J. Q. Burch, 1944) (type locality Crescent City, California) is resurrected for the northern morphotype. Moreover, molecular phylogenetic analyses recovered B. californica as sister to Berthellina, in a well-supported clade separate from Berthella, suggesting that the classification of B. californica may need additional revision. The purpose of this paper is to examine whether agricultural supply chains (ASC) can be simultaneously sustainable and resilient to ecological disruptions, using the Planetary Boundaries theory. The nine different Planetary Boundaries i.e. climatic change, biodiversity loss, biogeochemical, ocean acidification, land use, freshwater availability, stratosphere ozone depletion, atmospheric aerosols and chemical pollution are examined in relation to ASC sustainability and resilience. Kenya's tea upstream supply chain sustainability and resilience from the ecological point of view is questioned. This study adopts a multi-case study analysis approach of nine producer organisations from Kenya's tea supply chain. The data from the in-depth semi-structured interviews and a focus group discussion are analysed using thematic analysis. The Kenyan tea supply chain producers are not aware of all the nine planetary boundaries, although these impact on their resilience practices. They are engaged in pursuing both sustainability and resilience practices. They implement mainly environmental practices in relation to sustainability, while only a few of them are implementing resilience practices. The sustainability and resilience concepts were found to be interrelated, but resilience does not improve at the same pace as sustainability. It is suggested that the relationship between sustainability and resilience is non-linear. Limitations and future research avenues are also provided.Despite the fact that medical responses are crucial for saving precious lives during any humanitarian crisis (e.g., the COVID-19 pandemic), healthcare infrastructure in many communities are partially covered or are not covered yet. In order to strengthen the health system response to such crisis, especially in low- to middle-income communities, this paper extends a novel multi-objective model for designing a health service network under uncertainty which simultaneously considers efficiency, social responsibility, and network cost. For efficiency, a modified data envelopment analysis model is introduced and inserted into the proposed model to decrease the inefficiency of healthcare facilities belonging to the different tiers of the health system. For social responsibility, two measures of job creation and balanced development are incorporated into the extended model. This is not only considered to cope with the increased numbers of patients and disaster victims to healthcare facilities but also to deal with the challenge of the economy and the livelihoods of people during the crisis. Moreover, a novel mixed possibilistic-flexible robust programming (MPFRP) approach is developed to protect the considered network against uncertainty. To show the applicability of the extended model, a real-world case study is presented. The results reveal that contrary to fuzzy programming models, the MPFRP performs well in terms of social responsibility (72%), cost (8%), and efficiency (28%) and is able to make a trade-off between these three measures. In this study, the resilience level of the designed network is not addressed while disregarding any short-term stoppage owing to internal or external sources of disruption in designing may bring about a considerable loss.In recent years, with the rapid development of Internet technology, the integration of platform economy and e-commerce has become a popular business model. Two-sided platforms have a specific impact on sales, customer experience and transaction efficiency of both sides. In the current severe situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, both the traditional unilateral market platform and the emerging two-sided market platform are in urgent need of a change in operation mode to reduce the marketing cost. Inspired by the cooperation between Meituan, a two-sided platform, and WeChat, a social media platform, this paper investigates the two-sided platform's scalable decisions on when to cooperate and how to optimize the pricing and investment decisions. We analyze how the two-sided platform makes decisions by considering the changes of network externalities from the cooperation with the social network platform. Compared with the scenario of non-cooperation, we derive the conditions under which platform cooperation can increase demands and increase platforms' profits, and analyze how cooperation affects the optimal pricing strategies. We find that the cooperation leads to a larger demand and a higher total profit, but might lead to higher registration prices for the platform users. Furthermore, we adopt the Nash bargaining framework and introduce platform bargaining power parameters to obtain the optimal cooperation and sharing strategy. Finally, we show how to adjust the investment strategy of the two-sided platform under platform cooperation.Investigating the co-movements between crude oil futures helps to understand the integration of the global markets. This paper focuses on Shanghai crude oil futures (INE) and study its co-movements with the international benchmarks of WTI and Brent crude oil futures in intra-day day and night trading sessions. A complex network model framework is proposed to analyse the intra-day co-movement patterns labelled by a functional data clustering approach on intra-day return curves. Our findings indicate INE is more integrated with the global market during the night session, but it shows a regional fractional effect during the day session. Based on the revealed dynamics of co-movement patterns, we further design a pairs trading strategy between INE crude oil futures and the international benchmarks. The simulation results show that the pairs trading strategy can be promisingly profitable, even during market turmoil phases.Empathy is a complex social-cognitive ability that is best understood by distinguishing its emotional, cognitive and motivational dimensions, which from early childhood interact between the child and her/his social environment. To date, among the many factors that are acknowledged to influence the development of empathy, children's temperament and parenting behaviors have been identified as interacting in predicting the extent to which children demonstrate empathic responses. Recent studies in developmental social neuroscience cast light on the neural networks engaged in the development of each of the dimensions that constitute empathy, which are needed to navigate social interaction and establishing positive social relationships. Indeed, early deficits in empathic processes can lead to difficulties in socialization, particularly associated with reduced attention to others' emotions, especially when they are suffering, a lesser degree of remorse and guilt, and a greater tendency to ignore social norms or breactional neuroimaging studies show that atypical patterns of brain activity at 15 months of age can predict later severe conduct disorder. Neural regions engaged in emotional processing such as the anterior cingulate cortex, insula and amygdala shown reduced activation to empathy-eliciting stimuli in children with CU. Finally, the genetic nature of CU traits is highlighted in several studies. We conclude by proposing several avenues for developmental research to identify biomarkers from an early age and by inviting to focus on psychological interventions with those populations accordingly.Efficient algorithms that support dynamic topological updates are necessary for the simulation of progressive interactive cutting of deformable objects. Existing mesh-based techniques suffer from the generation of ill-shaped elements whereas voxel grid-based methods require additional cut surfaces to be generated or the use of look-up tables for pre-computed cutting patterns. To overcome these limitations of existing methods, we propose a novel voxel-based topological operator, divide, which divides a voxel into two voxels identical to the original voxel's size by dynamically distributing its voxel elements (nodes, edges) into the newly divided voxels until the cutting of the original voxel is completed. The connectivity between the divided voxels and the neighbors of the original voxel is retained during the cut, and new connectivity between the adjacent divided voxels is generated to represent the continuity of the cut. As a result, the cut surface can be generated directly from the divided voxels on-the-fly, and the correspondence between the cut surface and the simulation voxels is maintained without any additional effort. We use several example problems to demonstrate the efficiency of our method and compare it with other existing approaches.Travel restriction measures have been widely implemented to curb the continued spread of COVID-19 during the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations. Many operation lines and train schedules of China's railway were either heavily adjusted or canceled. In this study, a mixed-integer linear programming model and a two-step solution algorithm were developed to handle such large-scale adjustments. The formulation considers a flexible time window for each operation line and locomotive traction operations, and minimizes the number of locomotives utilized with their total idle time for train rescheduling and locomotive assignment, respectively. The solution algorithm determines the minimum locomotive fleet size based on the optimal train rescheduling results; it then reduces the traction idle time of locomotives. In response to the uncertainty of COVID-19, two tailored approaches were also designed to recover and remove operation lines, which can insert and cut operation lines based on the results of locomotive assignment. Finally, we conducted a case study of the Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway from the start of the COVID-19 outbreak to the recovery of operations. In this paper I explore health and illness through the lens of enactivism, which is understood and developed as a bodily-based worldly-engaged phenomenology. Various health theories - biomedical, ability-based, biopsychosocial - are introduced and scrutinized from the point of view of enactivism and phenomenology. Health is ultimately argued to consist in a central world-disclosing aspect of what is called existential feelings, experienced by way of transparency and ease in carrying out important life projects. Health, in such a phenomenologically enacted understanding, is an important and in many cases necessary part of leading a good life. Illness, on the other hand, by such a phenomenological view, consist in finding oneself at mercy of unhomelike existential feelings, such as bodily pains, nausea, extreme unmotivated tiredness, depression, chronic anxiety and delusion, which make it harder and, in some cases, impossible to flourish. In illness suffering the lived body hurts, resists, or, in other ways, alienates the activities of the ill person.
