5 months in acrometastasis, 4.0 months in mesometastasis, 16 months in rhizometastasis, 17 months in body trunk metastasis and 16 months overall. In survival curve, there was a statistically significant difference between mesometastasis and body trunk metastasis. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that 'mesometastasis' could be another poor prognostic factor in cancer patients and that patients with mesometastasis should receive appropriate treatments according to their expected prognosis. © The Author(s) 2020. In these cases, the main cause of death is the use of heroin and other opioids, but there are more causes of death and most are potentially preventable. The most vulnerable groups to the increase of post-release morbidity and mortality are the drug users, the mentally ill and the foreign inmates from countries with few economic resources. It is urgent to implement interventions that optimize access to health devices after the prison release, avoid interruptions in the continuity of care and treatment prescribed in prison and reduce morbidity and mortality. To achieve this, it is necessary to coordinate the effective form of care inside and outside the prison and apply support measures. We present the project implemented in the prisons of Catalonia, which the "nurse of liaison" has used as a key figure in the process. We also present the internal and external procedure used to facilitate the transfer of sanitary and therapeutic information, to link released patients to health devices and to ensure that they are received in a timely and appropriate manner. Objectives Decide how prison infrastructure guarantees health's right a suitable environment of Establecimiento Penitenciario Anexo de Mujeres de Chorrillos (EPAMCh) prisoners. Material and method For the materials was used an interview guide addressed to 10 specialist and interview guide addressed to 30 prisoners. About the method, it was selected the qualitative approach, the applied type with the phenomenological design. Results The interview experts said that Establecimiento Penitenciario Anexo de Mujeres de Chorrillos current infrastructure and don´t give minima sanitary services. In the polls, the prisoners unanimously answered that conditions were precarious, but mostly said that they were willing to incorporate to a health education program and bet for a preventive medicine without forget the curative. Discussion Is Important foment the preventive medicine in order to get a strong health education in jails. To reverse this reality would mean change a guarantee in their health rights and a suitable environment. Objectives To explore sociodemographic, psychological and psychopathological characteristics, as well as to evaluate the behaviour in an inmate sample. Materials and methods There is a total sample of 182 young and elderly inmates of the Madrid III Prison. The investigation has been carried out with a battery of self-report psychological questionnaires and objective measurements obtained through the prison files. Comparisons of means were made to see if there are significant differences between the two groups (young and elderly inmates) in the variables analysed. Results The analysis shows that there are no significant differences in wellbeing between young and elderly inmates. However, young people have higher levels of psychological distress, more presence of negative emotions and have a more maladjusted behaviour in prison (they consume more cannabis and have more disciplinary records). Older people better regulate their emotions, adopt better the perspectives of others, showing themselves to be friendlier. Conclusions The elderly inmates in prison, compared with the youngest, have a better psychological adjustment, more internal resources and a better adaptation to the prison environment despite of no differences in related variables such as time in prison. Objectives Determine the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection, the risk factors for infection in inmates aged 25 to 65 years old in four Catalan prisons. Materials and methods This is a cross sectional study conducted in four Catalan prisons chosen at convenience with a random stratified sample of the penitentiary population 25 to 65 years old taken within these centres. A urine specimen was analysed using the Anyplex CT/NG Seegene technique. An ad hoc questionnaire was used to determine sociodemographic and behavioural risk factors for infection within the previous year. The prevalence estimates of CT were calculated. Crude and adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% Confidence Intervals (CIs) were used to estimate associations between infection and risk factor. Results Out of 1,469 participants, 15 men tested positive for CT (prevalence 1.02%). We explored age, country of birth, education, occupation, sexual orientation, age initiation sexual activity, number and type of sexual partners (sporadic vs. stable) in a year, concurrency of sexual partners, preservative use in previous sexual relationship, etc. The only factor independently associated with infection was being heterosexual man having sexual relationships with different sporadic partners. Among those who had had an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) in life 27% did not notify to all their partners and the main reason was not being able to retrieve them. Conclusions CT prevalence in inmates 25 to 65 years old is very low in four prisons of Catalonia. No systematic screening of infection is justified although prisoners having different sporadic sexual partners may need more sexual infection prevention advice. Objectives The objective of this study was to examine nutritional status, psychomotor and socioemotional development of children living with mothers in prison in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Materials and methods Sex, age, weight and height were measured in children (37) residents with their mothers (28) in the Criminal Unit No. 33 of the SPB. Nutritional indicators were calculated and analyzed according to the WHO international reference (2006). National Research Test (PRUNAPE) and the parental questionnaire Ages and Stages Questionnaires SocioEmotional®, Second Edition (ASQSE-2) were applied to evaluate development. Results Anthropometric evaluation showed that 7% of children under 2 years presented low weight, 3% alert of low weight, 28% high weight and 14% low height. Children over 2 years of age showed 37.5% of high weight and 25% of risk of overweight. There were no children with short stature. PRUNAPE and ASQSE-2 tests in the 30 cases that completed both tests more than half (53.3%) obtained scores within the expected. In the group of children with both tests who did not pass the PRUNAPE (n= 9), the result found in the ASQ-SE 2 was diverse 66.6% is within the expectations and 33.3% at risk. Neither of children with both tests that did not pass the ASQSE-2, passed the PRUNAPE. Conclusion There were high prevalences of excess weight and high percentages of risk in psychomotor development, considerably higher than in the general population. There is a need to carry out actions to reduce the harmful effect of childhood confinement.By spraying liquid crystal mixtures onto stretched polyamide 6 (PA6) substrates, dual-responsive heat/humidity bilayer actuators are generated. The oriented PA6 guides the self-organization of the liquid crystal monomers into well-aligned, anisotropic liquid crystal networks. The bilayer responds to changes in the environmental relative humidity, resulting in bending of the actuator with the liquid crystal network inside the curvature. In contrast, in conditions of constant high humidity (80%RH), increasing the temperature triggers the liquid crystal network coating to bend the bilayer in the opposing direction. The dual-responsivity to changes in environmental humidity and temperature is examined in detail and discussed theoretically to elucidate the humidity-gated, temperature responsive properties revealing guidelines for fabricating anisotropic bilayer actuators.Bicontinuous interfacially jammed emulsion gels (bijels) are novel composite materials that can be challenging to manufacture. As a step towards automating production, we have developed a machine learning tool to classify fabrication attempts. We use training and testing data in the form of confocal images from both successful and unsuccessful attempts at bijel fabrication. We then apply machine learning techniques to this data in order to classify whether an image is a bijel or a non-bijel. Our principal approach is to process the images to find their autocorrelation function and structure factor, and from these functions we identify variables that can be used for training a supervised machine learning model to identify a bijel image. We are able to categorise images with reasonable accuracies of 85.4% and 87.5% for two different approaches. We find that using both the liquid and particle channels helps to achieve optimal performance and that successful classification relies on the bijel samples sharing a characteristic length scale. Our second approach is to classify the shapes of the liquid domains directly; the shape descriptors are then used to classify fabrication attempts via a decision tree. We have used an adaptive design approach to find an image pre-processing step that yields the optimal classification results. Again, we find that the characteristic length scale of the images is crucial in performing the classification. We synthesized a novel MOF with an sqc1575 topology as an ideal host matrix that exhibits luminescence energy transfer with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). What's more, the PAHs@MOF composites display an interesting quenching behavior in the presence of the electron donor triethanolamine (TEOA). We report for the first time that the well-defined porosity of a luminescent MOF enables it to serve as a host matrix for encapsulating chromophoric PAH molecules to modulate luminescence properties, and further exploit its reductive quenching properties by using a photocatalytic sacrificial electron donor.Radical thiol-ene coupling was exploited for the first time to prepare imino-disaccharides and multivalent iminosugars starting from sugar thiols and iminosugar alkenes or iminosugar thiols and tetra-allylated calixarene, respectively. In this paper, we successfully controllably synthesize continuous nanothickness MOF coatings (NTMCs) by a layer-by-layer method on a polymeric substrate. The polymeric substrate was pretreated with high energy γ-irradiation to induce a high surface density of living reactive groups, which ensure the formation of continuous surface-integrated NTMCs. SEM, FT-IR spectroscopy and XPS were used to characterize NTMCs. The thickness and morphology were tuned by the LBL cycles, and NTMCs with a thickness of ∼44 nm were obtained. The chemical bonds between the NTMCs and polymeric substrate were confirmed by XPS and EDS. Moreover, the NTMCs exhibit good performance for oil-water separation. We believe that our work will promote the design and precise synthesis of high-performance MOF based membranes for multiple practical applications in future.
