001 and 0.002 mg/mL). Both extracts displayed antimicrobial activity on Gram negative and positive strains. They were effective against S. aureus isolated from auricular infections. The tested extracts were able to inhibit biofilm formation with concentration-dependent manner. Moreover, no cytotoxic effect on Vero cells line was demonstrated for the extracts. Overall, our findings highlight the potential use of E. alata extract as a novel source of bioactive molecules with antioxidant, antibacterial and antiobiofilm effects for the control of infectious disease especially those associated to S. aureus methicillin resistant. The acute toxicity of household detergent (Ariel) on blood parameters and histology of Oreochromis niloticus was investigated using static bioassay for 96 h. Linear alkyl benzene sulfonate (LAS) is an anionic surfactant widely used in detergents and cleaners, both in industrial and household applications. LAS contaminating aquatic ecosystems as a potential toxic pollutant, was investigated in the present study for acute toxicity. The fish samples were divided into six groups, including 20 fish in each group. Normal feed was given to control group without detergents treatment. Hematological parameters (RBC count, Hb, Ht and platelets) were significantly declined, while WBC count showed a highly significant increase. Compared with the control group, significant elevation of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was recorded in fish treated with different concentrations of detergent. Catalase (CAT), Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities and Reduced Glutathione (GSH) concentration showed a highly significant reduction. Total proteins showed significant decrease, while total lipids, cholesterol and triglycerides significantly increased. The mean lethal concentration (LC50) for 96 h of Ariel was at concentration 10 mg/L. Relative percentage of detergent residues in fish muscles was increased with higher detergent concentrations. In conclusion, exposure to detergents resulted in great alterations in the histological structure of liver and gills. This study involved cerebroprotective potential of aloe emodin (AE) by in silico molecular docking analysis against various cerebrotoxic proteins followed by in vivo activity on multiple occlusions and reperfusion of bilateral carotid arteries (MO/RCA) induced cerebral injury in experimental rats. Molecular docking studies were carried out to evaluate the binding affinity (or binding interaction) between AE and various proteins involved in apoptosis such as caspase-3 (CASP3) and Bcl-2-associated X protein (BAX), and proteins involved in inflammation such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF α), nitric oxide synthase (NOS), acid-sensing ion channel (ASIC) and glutamate receptor (GR) involved in cerebral stroke, and results were compared with that of standard drugs, minocycline, quercetin, and memantine. Cerebral ischemic reperfusion induced by MO/RCA was assessed for 10 mins reperfusion period as one cycle, and the experiment was conducted for up to 3 cycles in rats. After completion of 3 cycl 50 mg/kg b.wt. restored contact between neuronal cells. It can be concluded that AE showed cerebroprotective effect on RO/RCA with promising inhibition of cerebrotoxic proteins (apoptotic and neuroinflammatory) as evident from molecular docking studies. The cerebroprotective potential of AE could be due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiapoptotic principles.
Tuberculosis (TB) presents serious health related complications caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogen. Interleukin 12 (IL-12), plays a central role in T helper 1 (Th1) cells development that are implicated in chronic inflammatory pathogenesis as well as level of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 can impact on IL-12 mRNA expression at the transcriptional level.

The present study included clinically confirmed 100 Mycobacterium tuberculosis cases (TB) for assessment of IL-12 mRNA expression and vitamin-D level as well as equal number of healthy controls were also included.

In TB cases, overall 13.01-fold higher IL-12 mRNA expression and 30.69ng/ml vitamin-D level were observed. It was observed that higher expression of IL-12 mRNA expression was linked with TB cases had fever (p<0.0001), night sweat (p=0.003), sputum with blood (p=0.03) as well as decreased vitamin-D level was linked with weight loss (p=0.01), fever (p<0.0001), night sweat (p=0.008), sputum with blood (p=0.005). TB cases with smokilism habit of TB cases.Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the major signalling molecules in the mammalian body playing critical role in regulation of blood pressure, cardiovascular disease including stroke, immune activation, neuronal and cell communication. Moreover, hyper production of NO by the activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) involved in neuropathic pain, neurodegenerative disorders and stroke. Hence, the search on small molecules from the natural sources for the inhibition of NOS is desirable in therapeutic point of view. The elevated level of NO caused by NOS enzyme become a novel target in finding new inhibitors from natural sources as antistroke agents. The present study focuses on the molecular docking of quercetin and its analogues against NOS. The active site of the enzyme was docked with the ligand and pharmacological properties were analysed. From this result, we suggest the therapeutic property of quercetin and its analogues against NOS.
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavoring agent added to various foods. This experimental study investigated MSG effects on chicken embryos morphology and the possible ameliorative effects of pomegranate peel extracts (PPE) at different incubation periods.

Seven hundred and twenty fertilized chicken eggs were used and divided into six groups control, PPE, MSG, PPE + MSG, preventive (PPE-MSG) and therapeutic (MSG-PPE) groups. Fertile chicken eggs were injected with MSG (0.1 ml) and/or PPE (0.3 ml) twice before incubation at days 0, 1. Embryos were extracted at days 7, 10, 12, 14 and 16. Effects of MSG and/ or PPE on embryo development during different incubation periods were studied.

MSG injected into embryos led to congenital anomalies that appeared mainly in MSG and MSG + PPE groups. These anomalies included growth retardation, absent eye, abdominal swelling and hernia. Mortality rate was the highest in MSG, then in MSG + PPE and MSG-PPE groups. PPE treatment reduced MSG toxic effects and these results were better in MSG-PPE and PPE-MSG groups than MSG + PPE group.

MSG injection affected chicken embryonic development causing growth retardation and decline in total body length, break length, and total body weight in all the treated groups. These harmful actions can be ameliorated with PPE treatment depending on embryo age.

The seeds were treated with abamectin to reduce nematodes reproduction and their ability to penetrate the roots, then seed germination and plant growth were observed. All the concentrations didn't negatively affect seeds germination wherever the germination percent reached 80% at the concentration (1000 ppm) after 20 days of sowing. The effect of abamectin on root-knot nematode was studied by recording numbers of nematodes in 100 g/soil, numbers of the galls, egg mass on the root, and the nematode reproduction factor. All concentrations significantly affected the nematode reproduction parameters compared to control. Abamectin at (500 ppm) was the most effective concentration on reducing nematodes parameters, i.e., 26.57, 38.83, 47.40 %, and 3.15 for the above-mentioned parameters, respectively at the end of experimint. No significant difference between 500 ppm and 1000 ppm. We recommended using the abamectin in (500 ppm) concentration as a seed application to control Meloidogyne incognita in cucumber plants under greenhouse conditions to reduce its environmental toxic effect. The pectinase enzymes are involved in several industrial applications, and industrial waste is one of the largest environmental pollutants, so this study aims to Endo-polygalacturonase (endo-PG) producing using Aspergillus niger AUMC 4156, Penicillium oxalicum AUMC 4153 and P. variotii AUMC 4149 by using some agro-industrial wastes (dried orange peel and sugar beet pulp) as a sole raw carbon source for degradation these waste in the process of urban wastes disposal. The fermentation process was carried out as a submerged culture technique under both shaken and static culture conditions. A. niger AUMC 4156 was the most promising producer of endo-PG under static conditions while P. oxalicum AUMC 4153 was the highest producer of endo-PG under shaken conditions. Sugar beet pulp proved to be the most preferable to orange peel as the only source of carbon in both shaken and static cultures. The medium that encompassing orange peel as a single carbon source afforded the highest protein content with all tested fungal strains in stirred and static cultures in comparison with sugar beet pulp. The highest activity of endo-polygalacuronase that produced using A. niger AUMC 4156 and P. oxalicum AUMC 4153 was achieved by using sugar beet pulp at 3% concentration under static cultures, meanwhile maximal enzyme activity produced by both fungal strains required 2% sugar beet pulp under shaken cultures. Sugar beet pulp showed promised potential as a good inducer for endo-polygalacturoase production, and enzymes production depended on fungal strains, culture medium, and submerged fermentation conditions. This work aims to study the effect of foliar spraying of three anti-transpirants i.e., A-1 tryptophan (Tri), A2 potassium silicate (KS), A3 chitosan (Chi) as well as A0 control (Tap water) under three irrigation regimes, I1 2400, I2 3600, and I3 4800 m3ha-1 on the quality and production of faba bean crop and its nutrient contents. The study was carried out during two successive winter seasons of 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. Drought stress affected the average performance of all studied traits as it reduced seed yield and traits, as a result of the decrease in chlorophyll related to photosynthesis, protein, carbohydrates, total phenols, amino acids, macronutrients (N, P, and K), micronutrient contents (Fe, Mn, and Zn) and their absorption. The single foliar spraying of faba bean with tryptophan 75 ppm, potassium silicate at 100 ppm, or chitosan at 750 ppm significantly increased all studied traits and reduced the drought stress compared to control under different irrigation systems. We recommended using a foliar shich recorded the minimum values in plant traits.Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi is Gram negative, rod shaped, facultative anaerobic bacterium, belongs to enterobacteriaceae family that causes typhoid fever in humans. This bacterium has become a super bug due to acquisition of multi drug resistance. Bacteria is transmitted through food and water contaminated with human feaces. Present study reports the screening of Adhatoda vasica, Amaranthus hybridus and Aloe barbadensis and their evaluation against multi-drug resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi. Qualitative analysis of ten phytochemicals was conducted using chemical method and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS). Antibacterial activity of plants was carried out by agar well diffusion method on Mueller Hinton agar. Total tannins, total alkaloids and total flavonoids of different parts of three plants were estimated through spectrophotometer. Total tannins content in different parts of plants was present in the given order Amaranthus hybridus leaf > Aloe barbadensis leaf > Adhatoda vasica leaf > Adhatoda vasica flower > Adhatoda vasica stem.
