It took a bit more time than expected to complete the task. The mop pads can be removed from the unit and dried with warm air at the base station. This feature helps to keep them clean and prevents the growth of mold. However, the mop pads may be a challenge to put back in their place and we witnessed them fall out of the mop holders numerous times during our tests.

The Dreame L20 Ultra, like other hybrid robots that are more sophisticated is a smartphone application and laser towers to map your home and organize it into rooms. It can also make use of your Wi-Fi connection for remote control and adjustments.

The Dreame's LIDAR-based mapping system TrueMapping 2.0 offers an improved path and has twice the range of other robots that utilize this type of technology. It also has a 3D-imaging system that can identify and avoid common objects such as wires, toys and keys.

In both mopping and vacuuming mode, the Dreame dispenses just enough water to soak your floors without overdoing it. We were impressed by its ability to clean small areas and remove small particles of dirt, something our other robots had trouble doing.

It can take a while to learn the various options and settings in the app. And as with all robotic vacuums and mop mops, it's a good idea create an area of protection around furniture to prevent damage or accidents. The dreme L30 has the battery's life of around 45 minutes for one lap around my apartment, which is about 20m2 of floor space that can be cleaned (not including furniture or the huge box it came in).
