Types of iron beams
Different types of beams are used in different structures to absorb stresses caused by shear force and bending moment. The types of beams can be classified into four categories: IPE, INP, IPB and honeycomb beams, all of which use hot rolling in their production process. There are only a few minor differences in the production steps of normal and hash beams.
The history of the iron beam
The first angle steel sections were rolled in 1819 and I sections were made in 1884. The first skyscraper, whose invention is attributed to William Le Baron Jenney, was realized at the same time as the construction strike. Before that, tall buildings were built with thick walls. For his 10-story building, he used cast iron columns buried in the material and malleable iron for the floor of the building.
In 1871 in the United States, the Great Chicago Fire destroyed thousands of wooden buildings. After the fire, Chicago emphasized the use of non-combustible building materials such as brick, stone, and limestone and created stricter regulations. The suggested solutions were to use cast iron and wrought iron in addition to brickwork. But with the growth of construction in the city and the need for tall buildings, the need for steel structures was felt more than ever.
From 1875 to 1920, advances in technology and the production of steel products increased. In this decade, railroads grew and steel sections became building materials. Broad wing beams or IPB beams were also produced for the first time in this time period and in 1907 at the Bethlehem Company. In the 1940s, hundreds of thousands of people were employed in American steel mills, and steel has been regularly used in building construction ever since.
What is a beam?
The parts that are subjected to lateral loads are called beams. Beams are usually placed horizontally and carry gravity loads. But there are also many exceptional cases. https://ahanfooladk1.ir/
There are different types of beams, including joist, intel, spandrel, stringer, floor beams, and girders. win.
Sub-beams are beams that bear the load of the floors and roofs of buildings with a short distance from each other.
The beams of the doorway are placed in the opening part of the walls and bear the load on the door or window.
The main beams bear the load of the external walls, part of the load of the floor or the entrance of the building.
Longitudinal beams in bridges are parallel to the length of the bridge and bear the load of the bridge crossing.
The floor beams are perpendicular to the longitudinal beams, which transfer the load of the passage from the longitudinal beams to the bridge girders or trusses.
The king arrow is also called an arrow to which other arrows transfer the load. King beams usually have an I-shaped section and a high height.
In addition to the classification of types of beams, according to the application we introduced above, types of beams can also be classified in terms of production standards, which we will discuss further; But before that, you should familiarize yourself with two main terms:
John Tir Ahan: The main and middle part of Tir Ahan is called John Tir Ahan.
Iron beam wings: The sides and edges of the iron beam are called iron beam wings.
