Why Is It So Useful? For COVID-19
Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop

If you're looking for a two-in-one machine that automatically empties its own dust bin and mops it up without your input, consider this smart option. It also comes with several mapping features, and Alexa integration.

The robot is costly however, it's great at cleaning up spills and dust. It has advanced programming to avoid obstacles and can be installed in areas for vacuuming or mopping.

1. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

This robotic vacuum and mops combines an attractive design with the latest robotic technology. The powerful smartphone app helps you keep track of routine maintenance, such as emptying its dust bin and cleaning the mop's pad between uses. It docks to a self-emptying platform that automatically cleans and empties it after every cleaning cycle. It's among the few robots with these features at a high price, and has did well in our tests.

Roborock redesigned its S8 Pro Ultra from last year's model, focusing on improving the vacuum's object avoidance and boosting its cleaning power. The result is a cleaner, more dependable machine. It has a stronger suction motor and dual rubber rollers on its floorhead, which make it better at cleaning up debris from the floor and removing pet hair off carpet. The battery has been upgraded to run for up to 180 minutes, and it also supports scheduled charging to lower the cost of electricity.

Learn Additional is the robot's brand new RockDock Ultra docking station, that does more than empty and clean its contents after each cleaning cycle. It also cleans the mop pad and dries it with warm air. It also refills its reservoir of water. This feature sets it apart from its competitors as it decreases the amount of time and effort needed to maintain it.

In the box it is S8 Pro Ultra is easy to set up. You will need access to Wi-Fi networks to download the companion app and pair your docking station to an additional mop pad. You're now ready to clean.

In our tests in our tests, the S8 Pro Ultra picked up the majority of surface litter and embedded dirt on carpets of medium pile as well as plain floors. Its power to vacuum is a bit below our top choice, the iRobot Roomba j7+ however it's a powerful and versatile machine worth your consideration.

The app allows you to create a 3D home map as well as designate zones that are not to be visited and schedule specific cleaning times. The app shows you a running record of cleaning times and coverage of areas, allowing you see the performance of each room or area. You can even assign a distinct cleaning mode for each area. If you have an Echo device or any other smart speaker, you can add voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The iRobot Roomba j7+ robot vacuum is a great choice for those who want an automatic vacuum that can also mop. This model uses iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping technology to create the floor plan of your home, so it can clean up your home in the most efficient manner possible. Other features include Dirt Detect to focus on areas that are more messy and Reactive Sensor Technology that helps the robot avoid obstacles in its route.

The j7+, just like other iRobot products, can be programmed to begin cleaning when you're away from home and stop if not done. It can be controlled via the iRobot App or smart speakers that can support Alexa and Google Assistant. It responds more quickly to voice commands than the majority of other robots, including the $599 self-emptying Neabot NoMo N1.

The iRobot Genius App allows you to control the robot with a the remote or your smartphone. It is also easy to set up the j7+ and customize other settings. It will guide new users through a process of onboarding that will help the robot map out their home's cleanliness and teach them about their home.

The j7+ has an extra-large dust bin than the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tested. This lets it hold more debris, but you'll still need to empty it once every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have many pet hairs or other heavy debris). iRobot sells replacement bags and filters separately.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the front camera on the j7+, which is advertised to aid the robot in recognizing dangers like power cords and pet waste and avoid them. The camera is not as effective in low light, so you may think about a rival that has a better camera, like the Roborock S7 MaxV.

Lastly, I was pleased to find that the iRobot J7+ automatically emptys its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal after it is docked. This is a huge improvement over the majority of competitors who require you to open and empty the bag manually. It's a minor detail however it will save you some time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek and stylish robot that provides impressive cleaning performance. It has a 5000Pa suction, and is equipped with dual-sided brushes as well as a floating brush to remove dirt from hard floors and corners. It is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used for vacuuming and mops. If the battery is low, it will return to its dock. Its smart features also include a home-map, 3D mapping and automatic cleaning schedules.

Like other Deebot models, the T10 Omni uses a separate cleaning tank that is used to clean and dry mopping pads in order to prevent cross-contamination. The T10's cleaning tank is capable of holding up to 4L of clean water, which will cover approximately 400m2. It features a unique design that allows it to refill and drain without touching the pad or getting wet.

The T10's intelligent mapping technology is one of the features that makes it stand out from other robot vacuums. It produces a detailed 3D map that shows the arrangement of your home. This allows the robot to more accurately detect obstacles and modify its navigational process that enhances the overall efficiency of cleaning.

The ECOVACS App is easy to use, and offers many settings that can be changed. The only drawback is that it doesn't include the remote control, which some might find frustrating.

The T10 OMNI does an excellent job of cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able take the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to navigate through furniture that was blocking its way.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an outstanding option for anyone seeking a self-emptying robotic mop and vacuum. The mop is just as powerful as its vacuums, and it sports a an appealing design than the Roomba. Although it doesn't have the remote control, the T10's intelligent capabilities will make up for the lack of one. You can quickly start or stop a cleansing cycle or schedule it, and alter the settings of your device using the app.

4. Shark ION LX

The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self-emptying robotic vacuum, is a great choice for those who want to keep their homes clean without having to lift a finger. It also offers exemplary performance. The vacuum comes with large bins that can hold a month's worth of dirt and the base can be programmed to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning run for storage that lasts longer. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most flexible available. It can clean carpets and hard floors. It can be controlled via an app or voice commands and you can create a map of your house to clean every room on demand. The robot also does an excellent job of maneuvering around furniture and can even traverse stairs and rooms that are fully carpeted with ease.

I tested the ION XL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood floors, area rugs and a standard debris test. It was excellent at vacuuming and clearing debris, pet hair, and even some of the more stubborn carpet crumbs. It was also adept at maneuvering and didn't bump into my bar stools like the iRobot j7+ in this test. The only drawback is that the ION XL is unable to detect toys, cords and shoes that may be in its path therefore you'll need to pre-clean your house before using this vacuum to stay clear of these items.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't need to spend more than $500 on a robot. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also performs better of vacuuming floors with no carpet and picking up pet hair, but it does not do as well on low- or high-pile carpet.

It's not as well-built, but it's still an excellent choice. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be controlled via an app and voice command, and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It also comes at affordable.
