Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born on December 7, 1961 in Edo State, Nigeria. He is the first son to be born to his parents. His brother pastor Ken Oyakhilomeis a prominent LoveWorld Incorporated employee. The sister of his, Katty Worigren (formerly Oyakhilome), also participates in the ministry as the director of the LoveWorld Music & Arts Ministry.

Pastor Chris studied architecture at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. He also has an honorary divinity diploma from Benson Idahosa University. He established an organization to serve youth at university.
