The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best robot vacuums that self-empty come with a base which holds the equivalent of a month's worth of debris and then empty it automatically. It makes a thorough home map, allowing you to mark rooms and define "no go" zones.
It also is equipped with superior ability to avoid obstacles, meaning that it can stay away from power cords and rogue socks.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
This is a top model from iRobot and performs extremely well. It is able to maneuver easily across a range of different surfaces and is highly efficient in sucking up dirt, dust, and debris. It's also well-constructed and looks pretty nice, too.
The S9 is iRobot’s latest premium S Series robot vacuum. It boasts a few extra features that make it distinct from other models. The iRobot App can, for example, use the camera to create maps that allows the unit to navigate and clean effectively.
It can also automatically return to the location where it left off if its battery gets depleted during the cleaning process, so you don't have to re-clean the same areas. You can also manually start cleaning sessions and stop them with a simple voice command or via the iRobot app, and this smart vacuum will even clean in the dark!
Another great feature is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 additional suction power when it comes in contact with carpeting so it can suck up even more dirt and debris. The unit also has an elongated front design that is closer to corners and walls than the older round designs. But, be aware that this model doesn't do well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
In our tests during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rugs. It also performed well on tiles, vinyl flooring, and laminate flooring. It was capable of navigating around furniture and other objects, but it had issues with stairs where it could crash into bookcases.
The S9's ability to return to its base and empty its dust bin once it is full was a great feature. It cut down on the need for manual maintenance. The dust bag should last for around 30 loads, or about two months and you'll need to replace the filter every once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very loud when it's in use making it a great option for families with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Created to eliminate one of the most tedious tasks off your hands, robotic vacuum cleaners do all the work and get carpeted and hardwood floors free of the everyday dust. Some robot vacuum cleaners are able to be controlled by apps on smartphones, and others feature mopping technology for bathrooms and kitchen flooring. They are a great option for busy families and they are becoming more affordable. However, if you want the latest features in your robotic cleaner, you'll need to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent option for those who live in a multi-floored apartment. Its dual motors give it incredible cleaning power and the 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied which is great since you'll have to do this frequently.
It's simple to set up as well, but I do recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will assist you to create a map of your house. It can identify the rooms, break large areas into sub-rooms to facilitate open-plan living and guide the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a certain time. Other robots also have similar scanning and mapping functions, but Eufy's app is more refined and intuitive than other models.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can activate the vacuum cleaner or mop through voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It worked well in our test home.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has problems with floors that are not fully covered. It may miss fur and other small objects, and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as some other models we've tested, and the whirring noise can be distracting.
Roborock V3S pro
The robot doesn't come with the same number of features as some of the more expensive ones we tested, however it does provide the essentials. It has a large dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt prior to needing to be empty. The mop and vacuum system is ideal for hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It's also quiet. We were able watch television while it was cleaning without feeling as though we were being constantly bombarded by noise.
Our testers loved how easy it was to set up and use, and were amazed by its ability to get all the mess off their floors. It was effective in getting rid of pet hair, messes and carpeting however, it had a harder time getting rid of stains that were stubborn. The app was simple to use and easy to understand. They were able set up the vacuum to clean frequently to cut down on manual work. It doesn't feature the ability to avoid objects or map technology, which means it cannot be able to be directed to specific rooms or follow virtual borders (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).
Another model from iRobot's affordable line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for its price. robot mop was the top robot vacuum in our tests to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also the best budget choice for those seeking an intelligent, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can handle hair and pet messes on hardwood floors or low-pile carpeting. It's also extremely quiet and comes with a massive dust bin that can hold lots of debris before it has to empty, so you don't have to be concerned about having to empty it every time you use it.
While the V3S Pro didn't earn a spot in any of our top choices compilations from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, it received high marks from reviewers from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews, and The Ambient. They liked the ease with which it was install and use, but they noted that its battery life is very short and it was unable to stay clear of some of the most stubborn mess we've put it through.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is an entry-level robot vacuum cleaner that provides a wide range of features for a low cost. You can enjoy many of the premium features, including smart navigation and mapping, without spending a fortune. You can also make use of voice commands using Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations and start your cleaning routine at any time while you're away.
Roborock took its time in developing this innovative cleaner. The product is built to last and feels like premium materials were used to make it. Its base is stable and solid and has the charging port built into the battery. The docking station is located for the tank that is clean and the dirty-water bins above. Under those, you'll find an area that houses the sealed vacuum bag.
When you connect your device with the app, you'll be able to see an interactive map of your home, which shows the location of where your robot is located and what area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to keep the robot out of certain areas and ensure it's only cleaning specific kinds of floors. It can also adjust its power settings according to the type of floor being cleaned and select the most efficient cleaning method.
The Q Revo is unlike many other robot vacuums due to the fact that it can raise both mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibres from being stained. In fact, it's one of the only vacuums on the market that can do this.
When mopping the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction capabilities are sufficient to remove specks of dust and pet hair strands, and other debris. The all-rubber brush is able to break up animal and human hair as it adapts to uneven surfaces.
The only issue with this machine is that it takes an extended time to empty and fill both the dirty and clean tanks. Luckily, you can decrease the frequency of this by utilizing the auto-empty feature, which will automatically empty the bin after a few days. You'll still need to monitor the levels of water in the dock manually, though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
