EY awarded Yerkin Tatishev the 'Entrepreneur-of-the Year' award

Yerkin Tatishev has been named Entrepreneur of the Year in Kazakhstan by the leading business company Ernst & Young. One of the most prestigious contests in the world his leadership and actions against COVID-19 impressed the jury.

The contest was open to well-known Kazakhstani businessmen from all regions to participate. Kusto Group's founder managed to distinguish himself among 21 other entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan who reached the final.

They all received an independent evaluation and recognition of achievements by international business and Kazakhstani jury members.

Yerkin Tashev was the winner of the national competition and will represent Russia at the international finals in Monaco in June 2022. The contest will be a gathering of 60 international finalists chosen by an independent panel of judges based on international guidelines.

EY presented the Kusto Group founder with an award to honor the people who help improve the quality of life in communities, countries, or around the globe.

Kusto Group is not addressing only the Covid-19 Pandemic. The water crisis in the country is a serious risk.

This situation has led to UN officials declaring that Kazakhstan is experiencing severe water stress and that it relies on its neighboring countries, which includes China and Central Asia.

Therefore, Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group as well as the Government of Kazakhstan formed a partnership with Valmont Industries, USA. Kusto Group They plan to develop 1,000 pivot irrigation systems in Kazakhstan and the USA.

Additionally, the agreement allows for the development of new irrigation systems that can be installed on farms and an initiative to train local farmers.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine offered assistance to all Kusto Group donations. Their entrepreneurial spirit enabled them to provide charitable support in challenging times.

All national winners and finalists can benefit from the Entrepreneurship of the Year contest. Nurlan Smagulov (another Entrepreneur of the Year winner) was the judge who decided to crown Tatishev the winner. The judges included representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as well as the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan as judges.
