10 Things We All Hate About Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum
Best Self-Expelling Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

We suggest getting a robot mop and a vacuum that comes with an easy-to-use base station. This makes it easy to change or wash cleaning pads as well as emptying the water tank with dirty water.

Also, think about a model that connects to Wi-Fi, so you can set automatic or set timers or map your home and use mop/vacuum switching features.

1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra

This high-powered robot vacuum and mop can do quite a bit of work. It cleans your floors, detects rugs, and self-empties its own water and dust tanks. It has a powerful suction, and even dispensing detergent. All of this functionality comes with a price tag of $1200. It's the highest-priced robot vacuum and mop package I've reviewed so far.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to install right out of the box. When you plug it into the outlet, it will prompt you to create a map of your home using sensors and will continue to use this information to stay clear of obstacles. In our tests, it avoided getting stuck on power cords, long curtains, and even dog toys. It's not perfect and there are times when it is stuck on things like unruly toys, tangled cables or books.

The S7 Max Ultra can be operated via its smartphone app. This is where you will find all of the advanced features which set it apart from other robot vacuums and mop machines. They include specific room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a scheduling planner mopping and vacuuming strengths, and integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. The wide range of features makes the S7 Max Ultra can do almost everything a traditional robot vacuum can do, but at a a fraction of the cost.

The S7 Max Ultra's ability to vacuum is impressive and it did a excellent job of removing pet hair, dirt, and other debris from carpet and hard flooring. self emptying vaccum emptying of the dustbin was flawless in our tests. This was reassuring. It also boasts 5100 Pa HyperForce power which is significantly more than the 2,500Pa of the S6MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capabilities was excellent, but not the most efficient we've seen. It utilized microfiber mops that absorb liquids, and sonic vibrating technology to scrub floors up to 3000 revolutions per minute. This was quicker than the X1 Omni circular pads which rotate at a rate of 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra’s ReactiveAI 2.0 obstruction recognition system is extremely effective. In our tests it didn't snag on any object and it steered clear of power cords long curtains, power cords and other obstacles that could be in the way 100% of the time.

2. Narwal Freo

It is something that is shunned by many, but it is essential to keep your home clean. It's a messy and often stinky job that is difficult to complete, as it requires dirty water, dustbins and the necessity of making sure that any debris or hair does not clog brushes or traps. Robots that mop and vacuum are becoming extremely popular. A lot of these machines require you to empty the dustbin and wash and rinsing mop pads by hand. This can be a pain particularly if you have to do this a few times during the cleaning process or after every cleaning session. This is why we're pleased to see that a number of manufacturers are introducing self-emptying robotics that will make the entire process easier and less stressful.

The Narwal Freo, the newest version of the robotic cleaners is packed with a range of improvements in software, sensors and hardware designed to keep it at top of its game. The patent-pending DirtSense Technology and Smart-Swing feature both work together to better identify the floor that is being cleaned, and alter the cleaning method based on the floor type. The Freo also measures dirtiness and automatically cleans mops once they're full. This improves the efficiency of subsequent cleaning sessions as it does not return to soiled areas.

Another great improvement that the Freo has over its predecessor is the ability to direct it's operation via an LCD touchscreen on its base station in addition to using the smartphone app. This is the first robot vacuum and mop that has this feature. It's a nice addition even if you don't use the app. You can even adjust the route in the middle of the session by using the LCD screen controls.

The Narwal Freo also does a good job of keeping its noise level low when it's in use, coming in at only 64dB in suction mode. The Freo's maintenance is not entirely hands-free, however. It is necessary to clean the primary brush roll as well as the side brushes frequently.

3. Ecovacs Deebot t9+

The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (available at The Good Guys for $1279) is among the most self-emptying robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It can plan out your home, mop and vacuum while avoiding obstructions and avoiding them. It can even release an air freshener which is a nice touch.

It is easy to set up, using the app to create a precise map of your home that it utilizes to clean. The app allows you to choose specific rooms or areas to be cleaned. You can also select the time you want it to begin cleaning, to ensure that your floors are cleaned while you are asleep or away.

In our tests, we observed the T9+ to be extremely good in navigating around obstacles. It tends to take a slightly manic route around the home. This often meant that it ended up in the exact spot it started cleaning just minutes earlier. This wasn't a lot of times but it was noticeable enough to be noticed and it is something worth noting down.

The T9+ comes with a variety of accessories including the robotic cleaner itself and docking station and an auto-empty station. The mopping module, and the replacement dustbin are sold separately.

Its enhanced navigation systems, mapping and obstacle detection are designed to guarantee a clean cleaning of your home with no interruptions. The upgraded 3D obstacle detection and avoidance technology detects objects in high-precision to avoid collisions, entanglements, or disturbances.

The Deebot T9+ can sweep mop, vacuum and sweep simultaneously. Your floor will look like it was when you first purchased it. The disposable mopping pad is easy to use and the microfiber cloth effectively traps dust and blocks away stains, leaving no remnants. The large capacity 2.5L auto-empty station can hold up to 30 days of debris and does not leaking, making it easy to keep your home neat with little effort. The T9+ comes with an upgraded 3000Pa motor which delivers powerful suction to ensure an efficient cleaning.

4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ is a great robot to clean floors. It's a vacuum and mop all in one, and it comes with excellent obstacle avoidance and home navigation. It can help you map your home and clean areas without damaging furniture or walls. It's also simple to use the app to create zones for areas that should be cleaned, or areas that you want it to avoid and establish specific no-mop and no-sweep areas.

iRobot's iAdapt 2.0 technology is a significant part of what makes the Combo J7+ so intelligent. The front camera of the majority of iRobot's robots is used to avoid hazards like pet waste and power cords. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo J7+ robot to identify dirt levels, and focus more on the areas.

When the Combo J7+ detects that it is on a surface that needs to be mopped a robot arm with a mop pads lifts from beneath the vacuum. It then mop the floor until the mopping pad is dry which takes only 90 seconds.

The Combo J7+ can also sense carpeting, which is nice for homes that have a mix of hard floors and rugs. It won't attempt to push the rug across, but instead will back away if it senses it is unable to cross the area without damaging the carpet or itself.

The Combo J7+ is simple to control from the mobile application, which is intuitive and well-designed. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa so you can start a cleaning by voice. The only drawback I could find was that the Combo j7+'s smaller water tank means you have to replenish it frequently, or else limit its mopping to smaller areas, and run it in eco-mode more often.

Another issue is that the Combo J7+'s dust bin is tiny and you must empty it manually. I also discovered that the Combo J7+'s mop pads to be less effective than those of other brands, which is a shame as it's a great combination robot.
