A Journey Back In Time A Conversation With People About Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum 20 Years Ago
Best Self-Expelling Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

If you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop with easy setup and maintenance, we suggest getting one that comes with an easy base station. This allows you to clean or replace cleaning pads, as well as empty and clean the dirty water tank.

Also consider a model that is connected to Wi-Fi so you can set automated/set timers, map your home, and utilize mop/vacuum switching features.

1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra

This powerful robot vacuum and mop is a real workhorse. It cleans your floors, detects carpets, and automatically empty its own water and dust tanks. It also has a powerful suction system and can even dispense detergent. robot vacuum cleaner self emptying of this functionality comes at a cost of $1200. It's also the most expensive robot vacuum and mop package I've ever seen.

In the box The S7 Max Ultra is very simple to install. Once you plug it into the wall, it will ask you to map your home using sensors. It will then continue to use that data to stay clear of obstacles. In our tests, it avoided getting stuck on power cords, long curtains and even dog toys. It's not perfect but it occasionally ran into things such as tangled wires or the odd book or toy.

You can control the S7 Max Ultra via its smartphone app, which is where you'll find all of the advanced features that distinguish it from other robotic vacuums and mop machines. They include specific room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a scheduling planner mopping and vacuuming strengths, and integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. The S7 Max Ultra's extensive feature set allows it to accomplish everything a standard robot could do, but at a fraction the cost.

The S7 Max Ultra's ability to vacuum is impressive and it did a very good job of picking up dirt, pet hair, and other particles on carpet and hard flooring. The automatic feature for emptying the dustbin worked perfectly during our tests, which was very comforting. It also boasts 5100 Pa HyperForce power, which is significantly higher than the 2,500Pa of the S6MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capability was excellent, but not the best we've seen. It used a microfiber mop which can absorb liquids and use sonic vibrating technology to scrub floors up to 3,000 revolutions per minutes. This was quicker than the X1 Omni circular pads which rotate at 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstruction recognition system is very good. In our tests it didn't snag on any objects, and it avoided power cords, long curtains and other obstacles of the time.

2. Narwal Freo

It's a chore that is dreaded by many, but it is essential to keep your home tidy. It's messy, and often stinky job that is difficult to complete, as it involves dirty water, dustbins and the necessity to ensure that debris or hair doesn't clog the traps or brushes. Robots that mop and vacuum are now extremely popular. A lot of these machines require you to empty the dustbin and wash and rinsing mop pads manually. This can be a pain particularly if you have to do it several times during the cleaning process or after every cleaning session. We're glad to see that certain manufacturers are introducing self emptying robots that make this process much simpler.

The Narwal Freo, the newest version of the robotic cleaners category is equipped with a variety of enhancements to sensors, software and hardware designed to keep it at top of its game. This includes the patent-pending DirtSense technology as well as the Smart-Swing feature, both of which work to better sense the area being cleaned and automatically alters the cleaning mode based on what type of floor it's. The Freo also registers dirtiness levels and automatically washes its mops once they are full, which increases the effectiveness of subsequent cleaning sessions by preventing returning to areas that are soiled.

Another major improvement that the Freo has over its predecessor is the capability to directly pilot it via an LCD touchscreen on the base station, in addition to using the smartphone app. This is a first for a robot vacuum and mop combination and is definitely a welcome alternative if you'd prefer to avoid the hassle of using the app. You can also alter the route during the session by using the LCD screen controls.

The Narwal Freo also does a decent job of keeping its noise down when it is working with suction, averaging just 63dB when it is in suction mode. However, maintaining the Freo isn't completely hands-free as you'll need to regularly clean various components, such as the primary brush roll and side brushes.

3. Ecovacs Deebot t9+

The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (available at The Good Guys for $1279) is one of the most efficient self-emptying robot vacuums and mop combinations on the market. It can map out your home and vacuum and mop while detecting and avoiding obstructions. It can even spray an air freshener.

It is easy to set up, using the app to create an accurate map of your home that it utilizes to clean. Then, you can use the app to select certain rooms or specific areas to clean. You can also choose the time you want it to begin cleaning so that your floors get cleaned while you're asleep or away.

In our tests in our tests, the T9+ was extremely impressive in its ability to navigate obstacles. It does tend to take a somewhat erratic route around the home. This usually meant that it ended up in the exact spot it started cleaning just minutes earlier. This didn't happen often however it was enough to be noticed and something worth noting down.

The T9+ comes with a range of accessories, including the robot cleaner, docking station and an automatic emptying station. The mopping module and the replacement dustbin are sold separately.

The improved navigation and mapping as well as obstacle detection systems are designed to keep your home clean without interruptions. The new 3D obstacle detection and avoidance technology detects objects with precision to avoid collisions, entanglements or disruptions.

The Deebot T9+ is capable of sweeping, vacuuming and mopping simultaneously, leaving your floor looking clean as new. The disposable mopping pad is simple to attach and the microfiber cloth effectively traps dust and blocks off stains without leaving any remnants. The huge 2.5L auto-empty stations can store up to 30 days of trash without leaking. This makes it simple to keep the house tidy with minimum effort. The T9+ also comes with an upgraded 3000Pa vacuum motor that provides powerful suction for a more effective clean.

4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ is an excellent robot for cleaning floors. It's a mop and a vacuum all in one and it also has obstacle avoidance and home navigation. It can map your clean and tidy areas without bumping into walls or furniture. It's also simple to make use of the app to define zones for areas that should be cleaned or ones that you want it to avoid and set up specific no-mop or no-sweep boundaries.

iRobot’s iAdapt technology 2.0 is an integral component of what makes Combo j7and smart. This uses the front camera, which is mounted on top of the majority of its robots to identify dangers, such as power cords or pet waste, and avoid them. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo j7+ robot to detect dirt levels and concentrate more specifically on areas of dirt.

When the Combo J7+ detects that it is on a floor that must be cleaned, an arm of a robot with mop pad lifts off from underneath the vacuum. It then sweeps the floor until it is aware that mopping pads are dry which takes around 90 seconds.

The Combo j7+ can also detect carpeting, which is nice for homes with a mix of hard floors and rugs. It won't attempt to get through the rug it will rather back away if it thinks it can't make it over the area without damaging itself or the carpeting.

The Combo j7+ is easy to control from the mobile app, which is intuitive and well-designed. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa which means you can start cleaning with voice. The only drawback I could find was that the Combo j7+'s tiny water tank means you have to refill it often, or else limit its mopping to smaller areas and run it in eco-mode more often.

The Combo j7+ has an extremely small dust bin which you have to empty manually. I also discovered that the Combo j7+'s mop pads to be less efficient than other brands and that's a shame because it's an otherwise excellent combination robot.
