See What Self Emptying Robot Vacuum Tricks The Celebs Are Using
Best Self-Empting Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair

Whether you have a single or multiple pets, you'll need to prioritize models with effective filtration systems that capture allergens like pet hair or dust. These models will reduce the frequency of cleaning the brush bar and emptying the trash bin.

Look for smart home connectivity to allow remote start, schedules and personalizations through the app. You'll also want to find an appliance that can mop, too for additional surface cleaning.

1. iRobot Roomba i7+

The Roomba i7+ is one of the most powerful self-emptying robot vacuums on the market. It's a new robotic vacuum that features the Clean Base automatic dirt disposal and ten times more suction power than earlier models and Dirt Detect to highlight particularly dirt-ridden areas on carpets or empty floors. You can use the companion app to program the robot's schedule, design virtual barriers with persistent maps (it remembers your home's layout so it can clean around furniture) or use voice commands.

The i7+ appears very similar to previous iRobot models. However, flip it around and you'll notice that the rubber rollers that pull in dirt have more fine, deeper patterns of chevrons than before. The i7+ has an external dust bin instead of a built-in one which can hold more debris and be emptied automatically or manually.

To get started using the i7+, you'll need to download and create an account with the iRobot application. After that, you can connect the i7+ to your Wi-Fi network and follow the instructions in the app to set up its different features. You'll also need to choose a name for the robot and pick the most appropriate color scheme for your space.

Like other iRobot models the i7+ can be quite loud when in motion. It's quieter than the majority of models in the market. The i7+ can be programmed to run in the evening or during lunch breaks and you can set up recurring cleaning sessions. This could include a regular visit to the cat's litter box, or a nightly sweep of the living room.

The i7+ is also notable for its intelligent mapping feature that lets you draw an outline of your home and teach the robot to recognize exactly where it is inside the home. It can then move more efficiently, for example, the avoidance of obstacles like chairs, beds and sofas. You can also add "Clean Zones" and "Keep Out Zones" to tell the robot where to focus its efforts, and you can change the amount of traction and brush strength.

2. Eureka Groove

This vacuum cleaner is priced lower than most of its competition, but offers a lot of features. It's well-built, easy to store, and can be used even without internet access. However, it struggles to get rid of pet hair on all surfaces and isn't great in maneuvering around obstacles. It also has a smaller dirt compartment and doesn't include an allergen-trapping HEPA filter. Additionally its navigation system isn't very sophisticated and it is prone to getting stuck under chairs and coat racks.

Despite these drawbacks however, users have rated the Groove praise for its suction power and versatility. It is particularly effective at dealing with dirt, dust, and pet hair on unfinished floors and carpets with low pile. It can be used to wash upholstery and furniture, getting rid of dust mites as well as other irritants. It can be controlled in four different ways. You can schedule cleanings using the Eureka App or voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant. The Groove includes remote controls that have basic functionality in case you don't have smartphones or prefer to use it manually.

The Groove is an excellent option for anyone looking for an easy, stress-free method to keep their home clean. Its battery life is great, with a runtime of over an hour on the highest power setting, and two hours or more in energy-saving mode. It also has a transparent dust cup that allows you to easily monitor its level and empty.

The Groove has a plastic body with matte and brushed accents that feel fairly sturdy. It's fairly compact and takes up very little space in a cabinet or closet. It's also fairly light at 4.9 pounds, making it easy to move and carry. However, its parts are a bit fragile and certain components, such as the dust cup cover and door for the brushroll compartment could be susceptible to cracking or scratching. Additionally, its charging pins, sensor and brushroll can all be opened for maintenance and should be cleaned with a clean cloth regularly.

3. Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL

Robot vacuums are great for saving time, but they need to be regularly emptied. This adds another chore to your list. The Shark IQ Self-Empty XL, RV1001AE, is more self-sufficient that the competition. It has a huge dust bin that can be cleaned only once per month. It is also fast and efficient, rarely is stuck and can be connected to Amazon Alexa to allow you to control it with your voice. It also offers the recharge-and-resume option, which allows the vacuum to return to its base and pick up where it left off when it is running out of battery.

This vacuum works well on bare floors, easily clearing pet hair and small particles such as rice and cereal. It is unable to handle heavy materials and its dirt bin can fill up quickly. It feels sturdily built and has an extended battery life, however, it isn't able to climb over low obstacles like power cables and treats them as solid barriers. The recurring costs are quite high, with many parts that require regular maintenance or replacement.

The IQ Robot has a variety of automation options including a scheduling function that allows you to create monthly and weekly cleaning schedules. Its app is easy to use and lets you review the history of cleaning as well as any error notifications. The vacuum can also be controlled using Alexa or the remote, which can be helpful for busy families.

The multiple power modes (Eco Normal, Eco, Max) did not alter the cleaning efficiency or noise level in our tests. Its Auto Mode automatically adjusts suction power to match the surface being cleaned, while its Boost mode offers increased suction on tougher surfaces.

The Shark IQ can be a good alternative to iRobot Roomba i7. We rated it higher in our tests due to a variety of factors. The i7 is more durable, has an extra-large dust bin that's positioned on its base station and can hold twice more dust than the Shark. It also performs better on high-pile and bare floors. It is faster to charge and has a longer battery life. However, it's not as self-sufficient when it comes to creating virtual boundaries or no-go zones as the Shark.

4. Eufy RoboVacX8

The eufy RoboVac X8 is an excellent vacuum that doubles as a mop. It's a better model than the cheaper RoboVac G30 and the eufy RoboVac 15C, with higher performance and more advanced automation features. It also has superior battery performance. A bright blue indicator light on the dock displays the time when the robovac has been charged or its battery is running low. If self emptying robot vacuum and mop is low on battery, it returns to its dock and recharges itself, taking about four hours. The robovac can be operated in two modes: 'Max' to clean heavier debris and dirt, and 'Eco" for cleaning light.

It can move around furniture with ease. The robot's LIDAR sensor is capable of mapping the floor, and its 'BoostIQ' feature is able to adjust suction levels automatically to accommodate different surfaces. It can also become stuck on electrical cords, rug tassels and its charging station. The eufy Home app makes it easy to break down the floorplan into rooms and areas, and create no-go zones.

In the course of testing, the eufy RoboVac absorbed a lot of pet hair and other dirt without losing suction. The UltraPack Compression System increases the dustbin's capacity, reducing the frequency of emptying. The robovac is controlled via voice using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

The elegant RoboVac is a bit retro look, featuring a pair of black and gold lines angled in toward the silver eufy logo at the top. The side panels feature a similar design, with rounded edges and a recessed area to house the robovac's garbage bin. It is not as well-designed as other robots, but it does have a sleek design that fits in with most homes. It is compact and lightweight and is able to be carried up and down the stairs. This model is also very quiet. Its only flaw is that it doesn't come with a dual purpose dust bin and charger.
