Deciphering the significance of dreams, remains a dream till date. A little is known about its underlying mechanism, brain regions involved and implications with wake life. This review is aimed to investigate the latest developments to summarize the differences in nature of dreams in Rapid eye movement and Non rapid eye movement sleep, possible role of dreams in day to day life with larger focus on Lucid Dreaming- its significant role in elevating productivity and efficiency. To carry out this review, combination of keywords like Lucid Dreaming, Rapid eye movement, Non rapid eye movement, Sleep Cycle, Dream Patterns, molecular mechanism of dreaming etc. were entered in databases like National library of Medicine, Google Scholar etc. Nature and composition of dreams are distinct in different sleep phases and it tends to influence cognitive skills, memory consolidation, mood and personal temperaments. It was observed that dreams in distinct phases, can be directly/indirectly related to development of cognition, skill enhancements, learning, healing, and even stress management affecting overall performance and productivity of an individual. Understanding the nature of dream contents in different phases can possibly inculcate insights for not only recovery aid in several mental illnesses but for elevated efficiency and productivity in normal individuals as well. Realising dreams as an effective tool for its contribution in daily activities might help organising our mood and overall mental well-being, a foremost component to thrive in the contemporary world which is currently undergoing the chaos of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019.With the emergence and rapid proliferation of social media platforms and social networking sites, recent years have witnessed a surge of misinformation spreading in our daily life. Drawing on a large-scale dataset which covers more than 1.4M posts and 18M comments from an online social media platform, we investigate the propagation of two distinct narratives-(i) conspiracy information, whose claims are generally unsubstantiated and thus referred as misinformation to some extent, and (ii) scientific information, whose origins are generally readily identifiable and verifiable. We find that conspiracy cascades tend to propagate in a multigenerational branching process whereas science cascades are more likely to grow in a breadth-first manner. Specifically, conspiracy information triggers larger cascades, involves more users and generations, persists longer, and is more viral and bursty than science information. Content analysis reveals that conspiracy cascades contain more negative words and emotional words whicviral than information from online social media platforms (e.g., Twitter and Imgur) whose political orientations are unclear. Our study provides complementing evidence to current misinformation research and has practical policy implications to stem the propagation and mitigate the influence of misinformation online.Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has emerged from China and globally affected the entire population through the human-to-human transmission of a newly emerged virus called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The genome of SARS-CoV-2 encodes several proteins that are essential for multiplication and pathogenesis. The main protease (Mpro or 3CLpro) of SARS-CoV-2 plays a central role in its pathogenesis and thus is considered as an attractive drug target for the drug design and development of small-molecule inhibitors. Ruxolitinib datasheet We have employed an extensive structure-based high-throughput virtual screening to discover potential natural compounds from the ZINC database which could inhibit the Mpro of SARS-CoV-2. Initially, the hits were selected on the basis of their physicochemical and drug-like properties. Subsequently, the PAINS filter, estimation of binding affinities using molecular docking, and interaction analyses were performed to find safe and potential inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 Mpro. We have identified ZINC02123811 (1-(3-(2,5,9-trimethyl-7-oxo-3-phenyl-7H-furo[3,2-g]chromen-6-yl)propanoyl)piperidine-4-carboxamide), a natural compound bearing appreciable affinity, efficiency, and specificity towards the binding pocket of SARS-CoV-2 Mpro. The identified compound showed a set of drug-like properties and preferentially binds to the active site of SARS-CoV-2 Mpro. All-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to evaluate the conformational dynamics, stability and interaction mechanism of Mpro with ZINC02123811. MD simulation results indicated that Mpro with ZINC02123811 forms a stable complex throughout the trajectory of 100 ns. These findings suggest that ZINC02123811 may be further exploited as a promising scaffold for the development of potential inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 Mpro to address COVID-19.
Anomalous origin of coronary artery from pulmonary artery (AOCAPA), as is evident from the name, is defined as abnormal origin of either coronary artery from the pulmonary artery. The consequences vary in most cases and these anomalies lead to severe coronary hypo-perfusion and ventricular dysfunction. The common variants of this cardiac malformation are an anomalous origin of a left coronary artery from a pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) and anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from a pulmonary artery (ARCAPA). Another rare variant is left main coronary artery atresia that resembles ALCAPA in its mode of presentation. This article presents a single surgeon experience of managing this complex subset of the coronary anomaly from April 2006 to July 2019.
The 105 patients, who underwent surgery for AOCAPA from April 2006 to July 2019, have been included in the study. The patients have been analysed by follow-up echocardiography and electrocardiography (ECG) at our hospital by paediatric cardiologists. Out as required, in both early and late phases.
AOCAPA is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly, which usually presents in infancy with left ventricular dysfunction and mitral valve regurgitation. Early diagnosis and surgical re-establishment of the dual coronary system has given gratifying results, with improvement in left ventricular function in survivors. Mitral valve intervention for MR was required, in both early and late phases.
