Adequate adherence to treatment is indispensable in preventing adverse consequences in heart failure patients. Such adherence can be managed through heart failure clinics and various methods of follow-up. In recent years, the use of telemonitoring has shown promising benefits in supporting clinicians' follow-up, as well as contributing to patients' self-care. This article presents the development and evaluation of a telemonitoring application for heart failure, through a Web-based interface for clinicians and a mobile application for patients. The application was evaluated through a 6-month pilot observational descriptive study in 20 outpatients with reduced ejection fraction and two nurses, in the context of a heart failure clinic. A technological acceptance questionnaire was applied to all patients and nurses at the end of the study period. Reversine In use, the application generated 64 real-time alerts for early decision-making to prevent complications, and 91% of patients did not present hospital readmissions. Such results, along with high user acceptance, show potential utility of the application as an effective complementary strategy for follow-up of patients with heart failure.
A mechanical testing protocol was used to compare the material properties of commercially available foams with that of a newly designed granular jamming orthosis prototypes.

Foot orthoses have an inherent limitation of predetermined mechanical material properties coupled with a fixed orthotic interface shape that cannot be readily changed.

To develop and test a novel orthotic insole design concept that incorporates principles of granular jamming.

Granular media were used in combination with vacuum pressure to create a variable stiffness granular foot orthosis. Four types of granular media (rice, poppy seeds, micropolystyrene, and polystyrene beads) were tested in different prototype configurations varying in volume fill and particulate size. Stress-strain curves were obtained from uniaxial compression tests to characterize granular foot orthosis prototypes in comparison with commercial orthotic foams.

Increasing vacuum pressure increased prototype stiffness for most configurations. A single granular jamming orthosis could exhibit energy absorption values that spanned the entire commercial foam performance range, and in some cases extended far beyond the upper values of the tested foams.

The results suggest that granular jamming principles can provide clinicians the capability for rapid selection of mechanical properties over a wide range of orthosis stiffnesses. Importantly, patients could don the orthosis because the clinician makes real-time assessments and adjustments in the clinic.

To identify and describe Indigenous health workers' roles, functions, activities, and involvement in decision-making in the provision of primary health care for Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Indigenous health worker workforce is the cornerstone to providing culturally safe, primary health care for Indigenous peoples and communities. Yet, wide ranging role variation has created a general lack of understanding of who Indigenous health workers are, what Indigenous health workers do, and how to best coordinate their roles and skills with other care providers to further improve the health care experience and outcomes for Indigenous peoples and communities.

This review will consider full text, peer-reviewed publications and gray literature that includes Indigenous health workers who identify as belonging to, and are recognized as such by their communities, any First Peoples group in Canada (First Nations, Inuit, Métis), Australia (Aboriginal, Torres Strait IslanCollection, New Zealand Collection, Rural and Remote Health Database, APAIS-ATSIS, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health bibliography), Sociological Abstracts, and Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet will be searched for studies. Additional sources of unpublished literature, including government websites and community-controlled health organization websites in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, will also be searched. Articles in English and French will be included, with no set date restrictions. Screening and selection will follow JBI methodology and findings will be summarized in tabular form accompanied by narrative text.
The aim of this review is to identify and assess the psychometric properties of patient-reported outcome measures of health-related quality of life in people living with HIV.

Some reviews have been conducted to identify generic and HIV-specific health-related, quality-of-life measures in people living with HIV. However, these studies did not report the psychometric properties of patient-reported outcome measures, making it difficult for researchers to choose one measure from the existing measures to assess health-related quality of life. This review will highlight various psychometric properties of the validation studies rather than reporting the content of measures.

We will consider studies that aim to validate patient-reported outcome measures of health-related quality of life in people living with HIV and evaluate one or more measurement proprieties. Studies published in English or Chinese and conducted in any country or setting are eligible for inclusion.

PubMed, Embase (Ovid), CINAHL (EBSCO), PsycINFO (EBSCO), Web of Science, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses, and Cochrane Library (Wiley) will be searched from January 1, 1996 to the present. The evaluation of measurement properties, data extraction, and data synthesis will be conducted according to JBI methodology.

The objective of this review is to evaluate the experiences of health care personnel in promoting a sense of home in older adults living in residential care facilities.

Moving to a residential care facility represents a critical moment for older adults as it disrupts their life and distances them from significant people and objects in their life. Health care personnel working in residential care facilities can assist in promoting the feeling of being at home for the residents. There is a lack of qualitative evidence reporting the experiences of health care providers with regards to promoting a sense of home in older adults living in residential care settings.

This review will consider qualitative studies that explore the experiences of health care personnel in promoting a sense of home in people aged 65 and over living in residential care facilities, including, but not limited to, nursing homes, residential care homes, retirement homes, assisted-living facilities, and skilled nursing facilities.

The review will use a meta-aggregation approach according to the JBI methodology for systematic synthesis of qualitative evidence.
